Just ate a great new little place right near the Culture Room. I can't wait to go back for dinner!!! Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. |

Just tried this new hand crafted donuts place and I have to say that it's top notch. I've had Voodoo and many great small mom and pop places across the country and this place blows them away. The donuts are insanely light and moist!! Not like the average sugar gut bomb you get everywhere else. Get there early(they open at 6am) because when they run out, they close!! |

saw a few of the markets running specials if you want to cook your own! Doris, Josephs, somebody else? |

What would your final meal in Denver be? Benny AND Pancake Flight at Snooze....I LOVE breakfast and could certainly die happy after that meal. |

Calypso in Pompano for proper FL seafood, Basillic for good Thai/Viet cusine, I've heard good things about Sea also. Cafe Sharaku in Ft Lauderdale is a nice gem too. |

Good Places to Eat Around the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale? Market 17 is better than 3030 and is only 5 min away(west side of 17th ST bridge) I did hear they changed around some staff and i haven t been since then. If you REALLY want to go somewhere special and relaxed, head up to Calypso in Pompano. Just make sure its a week night, they are closed Sat & Sun. |

Relish in Northwood Village (West Palm Beach) I ate at Relish when it first opened. It was good and interesting but pricey for what you got. Fries were good and the shakes were awesome. The cookie desserts are a big skip. It was OK but i wouldn t go back.....Now Charm City Burger thats another story! |

One perfect dinner in Ft. Lauderdale We had a great dinner at Market 17 a few weeks ago. Did the 8 course tasting menu and had no complaints. Flavors were well balanced and everything was on point. I'm so happy to see this kind of food and dining finally in FTL. Yes 3030 does a tasting menu but, have you ever had it? We did. It felt like it was a burden to them and portions were super tiny and the courses didnt flow very well. Eating at Market 17 felt like being back on the west coast where they seem to care more about what they eat. |

Pretty weak showing as usual from Ft Lauderdale. 3030 is probably good, Johnny V is always a hit, Cafe Maxx is bringing it as they always do. Not much else of interest. Maybe the Melting Pot looks ok and i ve never been there so maybe i'll try that. WAY TOO much Italian going on. We'll see..... ----- |

I recently stopped by Deep Down South BBQ on 3101 W Sunrise Blvd. Its a very large trailer parked in a gas station by the Swap Shop. Now i know what you are thinking. (Really????) I myself have driven past it many times and have seen a line acrossed the parking lot and wondered. Is it any good?? Well on my way home out west in decided to stop as there was no line. I am soooo glad that i did. I got a rib and chicken combo with coleslaw and mac&cheese and a banana creme pie. It was about 6 Lg pcs of ribs and a 1/4 chicken. The sides were pretty lg also. Everything was very good and it was enough to feed 2. I couldn t finish it and took it to work the next day for lunch and it drew quite a bit of attention in the office! It was very reasonable also about $10 for the meal and $2 for the dessert. It is not the best area but i would not hesitate to go back for that kind of Q!! |

Good Fish Monger in Ft. Lauderdale nothing really great in FTL. Boca has a good Fresh Market as does Pembroke Pines and Coral Springs. There is the Mediterranean Market on las olas, good but pricey. There is also Epicure in boca but, again pricey. GOOD SEAFOOD IS NOT CHEAP! A good idea is to go down to the local dock or pier and buy something direct from the fisherman. Doesn t get any fresher than that!!!!!! |

Le Tub - Does it live up to the hype? NO WAY! I went twice to be sure the first wasn t a fluke. First the burger was way too big to eat. It lacked any flavor, tasted like tough cheap ground chuck, not sirloin. I don t mind the wait if its worth it and this wasn t. The price was also steep $11.00!!!!!!!!! for a crap burger?????? The setting is nice, but if you must go don t get the burger. |

Yes most definatley!! I know for a fact that kelly's flies in all of their northern fare direct from boston. |

Yes definitely agree with the sushi at Aizia, other menu items are much better. Are you sure you had stone crabs at billys? The season closed May 15th, so if you did, they were frozen. Billy's is not what i would call "quality". Thank God you didn t go to Le Tub for their horrid burgers. I ve been on two different occasions and not at all been impressed. Zero flavor, Too big to eat, Expensive to boot. I think that now they are "famous" they don t care as much. I would take Wendy s any day over Le Crap. Sorry but talking about overpriced CRAP. |

try these Tatiana, upscale Vegas style shows, they buy quality seafood. I know. Aizia, Upscale, Walking distance(it s in the W/D hotel) Excellent seafood |

My SF Dining Itinerary. Any Suggestions? Thanks everyone! i knew what to expect at Roy's. It was picked because its only a couple of blocks away and my GF liked the menu.I will make alternate reservations just in case. I m not really expecting much from TB either, its our first day in town and its really close, reasonable and unpretentious. I also forgot to mention we will be staying in a condo with a full kitchen so i'll be cooking breakfast most days from the freshest, local ingredients i can find (prob the ferry building). May go to ubuntu or get pizza at Azzurro. Top of the Mark is all about the view and i don t really want to go there for lunch, dinner, or drinks. I will try to fit in some suggestions as most of this is not yet cut in stone. |

My SF Dining Itinerary. Any Suggestions? Coming into town in August. I ve been searching and paying attention to this board and some others. Chow has by far the best and most useful knowledge of this fine city's MANY dining options. Many thanks and i will continue to frequent this board. Also expect a FULL report of all the places i end up visiting. DAY 1 Staying in SOMA DAY 2 DAY 3 DAY 4 DAY 5 DAY 6 DAY 7 DAY 8-9 Visiting Yosemite, any Dining suggestions? I know options are limited. I know this may seem ambitious, but my real reason for the trip is GASP! the food. All other activities will revolve around the meals. Any good suggestions I will try to fit in as "SNACKS" Thanks for any help. |

This is VERY untrue, unless you can keep them alive for a few months. Soft shells are regular hard shells that are molting the old shell. Hence the short season. FWIW you can t keep them alive out of natural environment more than a couple days. They need not be alive to be eaten, the enzymes that degrade the meat do not form for about 24 or so hours after they die. This also applies to lobster as well. I have cooked TONS of recently dead lobster with few problems. |
