Custom Birthday Cakes (East Valley)
I'm looking to possibly get a 3D Sponge Bob birthday cake anywhere in the East Valley (Scottsdale to Chandler). Does anyone know of a good custom bakery around here?
OLD TOWN SCOTTSDALE LUNCH SPOT FOR 30
If you're just looking for a place to accomodate the size of your group, there's always Buca di Beppo right in the heart of Old Town.

Is there a food court in all of their locations or just Ranch Market 3?

I would suggest you comment on the last thread then. That way it will be bumped up and you won't be cluttering the board with too many of the same issues.

Wasn't there another thread you started with the same discussion?

What's at Dobson & Southern? (Mesa, AZ)
There is one called Best of Hong Kong on the northwest corner of those streets that, of my opinion, has been on steady decline the past few years. They still have pretty decent duck and pork but the other dishes are not what they used to be.
In the same corner is a Korean place called Hodori I was not blown away by either.
Boba (Black Tapioca Pearls) Tea
Thanks I'll try at least Tenju next time I'm out there seeing my aunt lives in Temple City. Large $3 boba is pretty standard in terms of pricing though so not particularly expensive.
Boba (Black Tapioca Pearls) Tea
I'll give it a shot. But if everything here is pretty pathetic, where is it good? I'm in LA once in a while, I'm assuming you're referring to somewhere there.
Boba (Black Tapioca Pearls) Tea
Well there are those 2 food places on the right side of the store, not sure what they're called now after having changed hands a few times. One of them used to be a Taiwan deli-ish type and that's where I'm talking about.
If you don't think Lollicup is anything great, I would genuinely like to see what place you think is great so I could maybe give it a shot. It's only like Starbucks in that they have a lot of stores across the country but it's not really overpriced compared to other places in the area. I also just came back from Taiwan a couple weeks ago and didn't find any boba there that is significantly better than Lollicup. All in all, I think they make some very authentic boba tea.
Boba (Black Tapioca Pearls) Tea
That place has terrible boba. I've had it there several times and they were hard and gross.
I still think the best boba in all of Phoenix is at Lollicup in Chandler. I know it's a chain but their product is still terrific. They also serve some pretty traditional Taiwanese plates.

Quintessential "Arizona" food / sandwich? Beer?
Here are a list of Arizona breweries if it helps:

La Torretta Ristorante - Scottsdale, AZ
I didn't like it. I got the lamb which was overcooked and had a strange mint sauce all over it. Someone else had a salmon which had an overwhelming fishy taste.
We only went because of the 50% off coupon too and it still was not worth it.

Today still exists in Vegas. From their website:

For good German food, I know it's a bit of a chain now but it's still pretty good, go to Hofbrauhaus across the street from Hard Rock.

excellent happy hour menu scottsdale
I meant when "summer" ends for the all night happy hour. We got happy hour last time outside on the patio.

Chinese Soup Dumplings in Phoenix Area
I used to love Schezwan Palace but I heard from others that the chef there has changed recently (maybe a month or 2) and the food is not close to as good as it used to be.
Flagstaff...Burgers
If you've ever been to Chuckbox in Tempe, Bun Huggers is pretty much the same thing up in Flagstaff. You order the size/type burger you want and then put on your own toppings. Good burger and decent sides.

Off the top of my head: Sapporo's in North Scottsdale, Kyoto in Old Town Scottsdale, Kabuki in Tempe. Then there are also Ra's in all 3 areas.

Pizzeria Bianco - Obnoxious!
Read back on his experience again and put yourself in his situation. I understand that many people have had positive things to say about the place, but if you take his story in it's own context I don't think it's unreasonable to have negative feedback.

If you don't mind going off the strip a little bit, the Rio World Buffet has been the best one I've been to.
