I love it too. Maybe its a childhood thing. I love it with good butter or cream cheese. I really like the ultra thin whole wheat matza. Its almost nutty. I love matza brei too.

I'm throwing my partner a huge retirememnt party on Saturday and today was the day to make the meatballs. I should have looked for the book days ago.

I'm desperate. I cant find the recipe online. I've made it before, it was fabulous, but I cant remember how I did it.

Walked in today and asked them what kind of fat they use. They showed me the blocks of " european butter blend( butter and margarine). Ick.

I made a half recipe of this one, using long grain rice. It was firm, but not as firm as my gram's. I think she might have used evap milk.

Are you going for the food or the booze? I dont drink, so I concentrate on HH food. Fraiche has excellent food for HH. An amazing turkey burger for 6.00. another burger for 6.00, a truffle burger for 8. Pizzas, mussles and salads. Wilshire restaurant also has some great food on their HH menu.

My grams recipe was firm. You could slice it into squares.

Is it firm when you cut it? I should have been more clear, my gram's recipe was so firm, you could cut it into squares.

My Jewish grandma used to make a baked rice pudding. It wasnt that sweet, and it had raisins in it. Sadly, she passed away before I could get the recipe. Does anyone have a similar recipe?

How is that brooding over food? I dont like "frozen dessert". I prefer premium ice cream so I wont be buying an ice cream sandwich from DR. I did bring 3 dozen cookies into my spouse's work place( police station). They were scooped up( no pun intended) in a matter of minutes. But ya know, cops will eat anything, as long as they know where it came from. LOL>

I used to live in Ontario, but now I'm in Socal( from here originally). You can find all kinds of Cadbury bars at Cost Plus. I've seen Nanaimo bars in gourmet markets too.

The portions are TINY @Border Grill and its very expensive. There is a Living Social deal right now though. 20 for 40.00. Its worth it for that price.

I spotted this ice cream( strawberry and caramel) at Trader Joe's for 1.99. Those flavors must be discontinued.

The majority of Breyers that is sold in Canada isnt even ice "cream". Its FROZEN DESSERT and it will say that in tiny letters. The dairy industry in Canada is regulated and thus very expensive. This Bryers frozen dessert is comprised of modified milk ingredients( aka Whey). There is not enough dairy in it to be called ice cream. When I lived in Ontario, it used to go on sale all the time for 1,99 and everyone thought they were getting such a bargain. I wouldnt eat that if it was free. Barf. When I called the company, they said that is what the customers wanted because it had less trans fat. Yeah, right.

I agree!! I ate with a meetup group using the groupon a couple months ago. The portions are TINY. I wasnt thrilled with paying 21 bucks for 3 tiny shrimp taco's, and less than a half a cup of rice/beans. Thankfully, I didnt have to pay any more than the 20 so it was worth it. I'd never eat there if I had to pay full price.

How about Sprouts? Ive seen them here for around 3.50lb.

Just like the topic says. When I lived in Canada( I had a PO Box in MI), I ordered from Anson Mills and Hoppin John. Is there anywhere local that sells real Stone Ground Grits(preferably white). I dont want Polenta.

I tried this place 2x. I knew it would close because the new owner didnt seem to care that much. I was right, it closed a few months ago. Shame, Shame Shame. It could have been so great.

We tried it a couple months ago. It was ok. I had a chicken sandwich, my partner had a hamburger. Nothing spectacular.

One at a time. I dont think Michael's sells them in a case. Nevertheless, I already bought them at Smart and Final.

I FOUND THE JARS. Michaels only has them individually.

Bought the rye last night in Encino. Made an egg sandwich this morning on a toasted slice. FAB!! Thanks. Its a bit pricey though. I might have to learn to bake a rye bread next.
