seeking recommendation: pre-movie dinner in port chester?
Looking to go for a decent meal before a 9:30pm movie tomorrow. Babysitter gets to our house at 6pm, so need a place we can through the meal (without rushing but able to enjoy) in about 1.5 hours.
It'll just be 2 of us.

Bakery in Lower Westchester -- Need a great birthday cake!
riviera bakehouse is definitely my favorite. btw - lulu's makes some beautiful cakes but much more expenseive and everyone there is so unfriendly. also, this isn't necessarily "fancy" but stop and shop cakes actually taste pretty good too - in case you ever need a "less special" cake.
we got my husband's 40th bday cake at riviera - it tasted great and looked beautiful.
Is Peniche in White Plains still open?
The website is no longer up & running.... anyone know if the restaurant is still open (maybe it was just a computer glitch?).

recommendations for restaurant w/private room for 40th bday dinner?
i am trying to plan a birthday dinner for my husband.... there'll be about 20 of us. any recommendations for a restaurant w/private room, preferably in lower westchester. not a steakhouse as about 1/2 the guests are vegetarian/fish only.

Options near Ritz Carlton Westchester?
I liked Peniche. It is walking distance.
Antipasti was also good.
CIty Limits Diner is also good - it is not your basic diner, but has a nice menu and the food is always tasty. There is one in the Westchester Mall, if you are there shopping (by Neiman Marcus) and the standalone restaurant is nice and big and easy to get a table as well.
BLT Steak is really good - but not sure if you're looking for another big meal after Blue HIll.
I've been to Boa's at the white plains mall - the food was OK but that whole mall is kind of depressing and empty. I wouldn't go there. The atmosphere was such a downer compared to some of the other choices you have available.
pre-dinner drinks in irvington?
I have reservations for dinner at Mima in Irvington on Saturday night. I've only been to Irvington once before (to Red Hat) so don't know the area well.
Any recommendation for somewhere nearby for a pre-dinner drink?

Backal's in Scarsdale?
Has anyone been for dinner? Was recommended to be by someone who had only been there for a brunch. Looking for a place in White Plains or Scarsdale for a Saturday night dinner - friends coming from the city to see our new hous and then go out.
I'm also open to other recommendations. Want to stay fairly close by since they are already driving to get to us - don't want to go somewhere that's another 25+ minutes away.
