I know, such an odd spot I think for Swiss Chalet. Tried the Spice Thai, it was ok but I forgot about that sushi spot - I'll check that out this weekend. Thanks!

Le Pain Quotidien - Coming to Toronto?

I actually happened to go in last weekend to grab something quickly and quick is not in their vocabulary. I was drawn in by the smell of coffee and pastries and ordered a coffee and croissant to go. Coffee took forever and they asked me about 3 times what I wanted again. I'm a patient person but I was ready to go behind the counter and get the croissant myself. The coffee though was really good, odd aftertaste but I got used to it and it wasn't unpleasant, just not used to it. Anyhow if you are in a rush don't go there. But can't comment on anything else, looked really nice.

Toronto poutine??

I had the most amazing poutine last summer at Bymark. It was lobster with a delish sauce with chees curds (no clue what the sauce was) and hand-cut fries. Soooo amazing!! Pricey but amaaazing. Anyhow I told a friend of mine to go there and have it and sadly they said it's not on the menu anymore. Soooo any amazing poutine recos in Toronto??

Anyone wanting to open a restaurant? Please open it by Bathurst and Queens Quay!! There is nothing there but a hugely overpriced sushi place and a sea of condos. I wish there was more places to choose from. Closest places are allll the way in Queens Quay Terminal and then it's Il Fornello or Pink Pearl Chinese or something. Hopefully some more places move in when those new condos open up on the Lakeshore at Bathurst. Not even a local coffee spot. Unless I'm missing some gem?? Heck if you know a good spot in that area please let me know!

New Yorker looking for a good burger...

What about Hero Burgers? Has anyone tried them? I had a burger from there once and it was good. I'm not a burger expert though and nyctransplant, sounds like you have quite the laundry list! I didn't pay attention to the bun, etc., I just ate it. haha!
