Dog-friendly restaurants in Vero Beach?

We will be staying in Vero Beach on Ocean Drive and are wondering about dog-friendly restaurants in the area. Specifically I'm thinking of somewhere to sit outside w/ the pooch on a Friday evening for dinner. Suggestions? Thank you in advance!

Friday night dinner w/in walking distance of 44th St. & Madison Ave.?

We will be in Manhattan this Friday evening from out of town and are looking for somewhere to have a nice dinner within walking distance (10-15 minute walk) of where we are staying near 44th & Madison Ave (near Grand Central Station). We are most interested in the following: Indian cuisine, upscale Mexican or Text Mex, or gastropub (I know, all over the place but ....) -- preferably not too formal but a nice ambiance would be appreciated (no delicious but ambiance-less dives, please!). We'd be open to other cuisines too if the others don't pan out within walking distance (French, Italian). Any suggestions? Thank you in advance for your ideas!

Solo lunch on Saturday in CBD or French Quarter?

I am looking for a great restaurant to send my husband to this Saturday for a solo lunch in the Central Business District or French Quarter. He is not particularly looking for authentic Cajun food, just somewhere with excellent quality, fresh ingredients and where one feels comfortable dining at the bar or table alone. Thanks so much for your suggestions!

Good place to pick up stone crabs in Miami?

I live in Coral Gables and have had stone crabs quite a few times while out on the town but want to pick some up to share with family visiting from out of town this weekend. Im looking for a fishmarket or store that has good, fresh ones and it can be located anywhere from South Miami to North Miami but I won't go to South Beach :) Thanks for any recommendations!

Anything new and exciting on Highway 30-A near Rosemary Beach/Seaside/Destin?

Thanks so much HabaneroJane, Mikeh, NancyH, & Beachmouse. We can't wait to escape from Miami and get up there next weekend. Now I have a whole new list of places to discover for lunch & dinner.

Anything new and exciting on Highway 30-A near Rosemary Beach/Seaside/Destin?

We are spending a week in one of our favorite places, Rosemary Beach, and I'm wondering if there are any new and interesting restaurants or seafood markets (our last visit was over a year ago). I saw online that there is now a casual seafood place at Alys Beach (George's I believe is the name). Any new recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Where to buy Shrimp on 30A?

Try Goatfeathers near Seaside or Shrimpers on Highway 98 (a bit further but fantastic shrimp!). We got fish and shrimp from both during our vacation @ Rosemary Beach last summer + loved both.

First trip to France - destinations suggestions please...

We stayed at a B & B in Provence called Les Trois Figuiers after seeing it written up in a French foodie magazine. We weren't disappointed. Since its been a while (2000), I just googled it, and there aren't many online reviews, but what I did find is positive. It's near the small charming towns of Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Bonnieux, and not far from Avignon if I recall. Bonnieux can also be a nice base--have stayed at the Clos du Buis there and love Le Fournil for eating just a stone's throw away. Neither of these B & Bs is super expensive.

Dinner spot near/in Naples?

My husband & I are getting out of Dade county for a weekend at the Ritz Carlton Naples Golf Resort (just north of Naples, I believe, not the hotel at the beach). It's our anniversary, so we're looking for somewhere nice for dinner, type of cuisine open, not excessively formal though. We thought of the restaurant at the Ritz (Lemonia), but I can't find much info online as to the quality and atmosphere. Any recommendations? We'll be going out after a rush-hour drive from MIA, so we probably don't want to drive too far from our hotel. Thanks for any tips.

2 for 1 tix South beach food & wine

Greetings,
Was watching local ABC news this morning here in Miami and there was a segment on the food and wine festival. They were talking about "sweetheart of a deal" 2 for 1 tix on certain events. Out of curiosity (we've never been before basically because of the outrageous ticket prices) I went on the site to see what was on offer. Nada ... couldn't find a thing either on the tix page, the home page, nothing.

Anyone know what this supposed deal was and how to access it / find events on offer 2 for 1?

university of miami food

both south miami and downtown coral gables are in close vicinity to UM. without a car, there are a few spots in south miami that can be reached by hopping on the metrorail (one station south of university station) such as Blu Pizzeria, Towne Kitchen + Bar (modern American), or Casa Larios (cuban). Café Pastis is also a sweet little French bistro, not too fancy.

in downtown CG, which is not accessible quite as easily without a car (but possible by combining the Metro + Trolley) there are lots of restaurants which I'm sure have been discussed on these boards. My favorites are Yuga, Spris (which has a good wine special on Wed. nights), and Pascals (fancier French).

Best eats on 30-A?

We're back from rosemary beach and i wanted to say thanks for all the recommendations! we enjoyed RB so much and were so lazy just laying around and biking the area that we only made it to bud & alley's for drinks at their rooftop bar. besides that we had a lot of excellent takeout from cowgirl kitchen (www.cowgirlkitchen.net) -- mainly fresh homemade pizzas and wonderful salads and other than that we picked up fresh seafood from Shrimpers (on Highway 98 near San Destin) and Goatfeathers (just east of Seaside). i miss vacation already ...

Any recommended Pre-Fixe ~25-30E in Paris?

Ditto on Pre Verre, and I discovered Charles Victor (in the 14th, near Denfert-Roch., a less touristy area) last summer. Dinner: 2 courses 19.5€, 3 for 27.5 €.

Very fresh food and an extensive menu. Reservations essential on weekends, open at 8 pm.

great restaurant in Provence hotel?

We stayed at this B & B in 2000 ... it's been a while, but we stayed for a week after our wedding and loved it. It's located in Lagnes not far from Bonnieux, Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, etc. We picked it primarily b/c the owners are a restaurant family, and the food did not disappoint. Amazing and copious breakfasts outside and excellent fixed price (optional) dinners.

Matsuri in South Miami

For sure. We live a few blocks from Matsuri, and for this very reason only, we've decided it's a take-out only place for us. We usually only go out on weekends, and it's just not very relaxing at Matsuri. I imagine it is different on weeknights?

Best eats on 30-A?

We're spending a week in Rosemary Beach. It's been a while since people gave recommendations for this area (30-A from Destin to PCB), so I'd love to hear about faves. We're not particularly looking for fancy seafood (we live in Miami, so we've got that covered here!) ... just relaxed places with good ambiance. We'd also love to hear about good seafood markets in the area.

Ate at Mint Leaf on Sat. night w/ a friend and had the same upsell experience. Coconut rice for 12.95? Charging for bringing more naan bread when you never asked for it? Oy. Won't be going back!
