Best Hamburger in Charleston

I am looking for the best burger in Charleston-I prefer local, grassfed, organic.

While in Charleston, SC where do you recommend

Wild Olive on Johns Island while you are at the Sanctuary-great Italian using local ingredients; Sunrise Bistro for breakfast-also on Johns Island.
Downtown-Fig focus is on local; new Patat Friet for lunch on George Streeet-Dutch French Fries and falafel; Cypress for apps and drinks on East Bay Street.

There are 2 underground supper clubs in the Lowcountry that are a MUST:

also-some of our lowcountry farms have dinners: Legare Farms and Joseph Fields on Johns Island, Thornhill north of Mt Pleasant

Lowcountry Local First is a good place to look for local stuff and there is also a Slow Foods chapter in Charleston.

Fez -- Charleston, SC

I rode by yesterday and the sign said now open for the taco place-anyone been yet?

Zebra Restaurant??

I tried to go for breakfast one morning and arrived maybe 10 minutes after service and the guy that came out of the kitchen to tell me that was so rude that it will be a while before I try again.

Fiery Ron's Home Team BBQ - Charleston

I recently had my 1st experience at Home Team and loved it. I had the wings and one of the (HUGE) sliders with cole slaw (only available after 9pm for $1.75). The white sauce they serve is tangy and different than anything I've had on a BBQ sandwich. I discovered the grainy mustard sauce on my last visit-that seems to be good on anything. I was suprised that I enjoyed it so much since I ate at my all time favorite BBQ in Edisto-Po Pigs-a couple of days before.

Fresh Eggs in Charleston, SC

Both of my fresh egg sources are now unavaliable-the Tomato Shed's chickens got eaten by foxes and Cyndy's near Kiawah is "closed until further notice". And I missed the Farmer's Market this morning. Any ideas out there?

best source for green peanuts to boil?

I have a new secret ingredient for boiled peanuts-bacon salt. If you google it you will find it. It is actually vegetarian and kosher-I don't know how they do it, but it adds great flavor.

Mars Hill near Asheville

Are there any good restaurants in Mars Hill? I am not familiar with the area-renting a cabin for a week an would like somewhere close by that is good that has a decent wine list. Also-any farmer's markets/local produce stores in the area?

Local Hound Seeks Dining for 10 Downtown [Charleston, SC]

Try Muse on Society St-they have an upstairs dining room and the food is excellent. Otherwise I would stick with Cru. I would suggest reservations soon!

1 night in Back Bay area

If y'all are interested:
I ended up having lunch at Davio's-very good. We sampled some apps-enjoyed a ham and gruyere (sp?) pizza, calamari-yummy with the peppers, philly spring rolls, and I had the bolognese pasta for entree. Had dinner at Sorelina (it was close to my hotel and I was starving, 1st place I saw)-most things were expensive, but I got out for $60 incl tip-had a small pasta with mushrooms and aspsragus side and 2 glasses of wine. Food was excellent and the wines matched the menu and were reasonably priced. Breakfast at Panifico was so good I grabbed a sandwich for the plane.

1 night in Back Bay area

It is my 1st time to Boston, staying in Back Bay area-I like great regional food and a good wine list, reasonably priced-any ideas?
Also-is it safe to walk around that area at night?

Greensboro, NC-Dinner

I ended up at Grappa Grille-great apps, loved the beggar's purse (I've seen that at a number of restaurants-new trend?) and the beef carpaccio, the steak we ordered wasn't the best but I was full by then anyway. Also tried Sweet Basil's and was very impressed-they are doing a "dinner and a movie" special on Fridays this summer-looks like fun.

Good eats Near Bluebird Cafe

I went to an early show at Bluebird Cafe-songwriters in the round or something like that and had a good fish sandwich. If you don't want fancy- and more music, try that.

Table 16 in Greensboro?

Table 16 is owned by Ben and a new partner-a young chef. No longer focusing on Italian, I think more local stuff

Summer is almost here: I need a Folly Beach update

Love Daily Dose for "hippie lunch". Also try L'il Mama's-pizza and sandwiches-last time I was there I had a great salad.

Greensboro, NC-Dinner

I visit the area often and love great food with a great wine list-any ieas?

Greensboro, NC

I like great food and great wine-any suggestions?

Charleston (SC) - tapas, small plates

J Paulz on James Island has sushi and tapas-great food, try the red snapper (?) with forbidden rice.. A freind of mine wil be playing the guitar Saurday nite.

Print Works Bistro Greensboro, NC

Print Works has great food. So does their sister restaurant Green Valley Grill-it's a little fancier-and right up the street. Both restaurants focus on local ingredients and they both have great wine lists.
