Recommendations for Orange County Restaurant Week 2011 ?
The restaurant week Charlie Palmer's menu is diferent from the regular prix-fixed menu, it seems to offer better choices, flat iron steak, than the regular menu. Hobbess, look at their regular menu, the RW offer is a good deal comparing to their regular price, Anyway, OCRegister has an article on 2012 OC Restaurant Week:
http://www.ocregister.com/articles/menus-341465-restaurant-prices.html
My choices are Anaheim White House (L,D), Memphis of the Santora (L,D), Charlie Palmer (D) and Kya's (D).
Any foodie worthy restaurants in this region?
Decent Vietnamese food in Lawndale, Torrance area are Phoever ("Pho" ever), and Pho Hong Long. It will satisfy your hunger for Vietnamese food on Wednesday night. I am Vietnamese living in Orange County, when I travel to Lawndale I always stop by either of them to eat. Pho, especially Pho Hong Long.their Pho is as good or better than some of the Pho in OC. PhoEver offer some Vietnamese salad dishes that are not available in OC. Hope you will enjoy the food.

Thank for the information. I never been to Charlie Palmer, is it a good choice ?
Recommendations for Orange County Restaurant Week 2011 ?
Agree, the portions are laughable. Therefore, the prices are too high for the portions. Food are good but their "3 courses dinner" equals an entree plus one bite of appertizer and a cookie. Too bad the food is good, I would come again if the price is less. Services are good.
Recommendations for Orange County Restaurant Week 2011 ?
I was at TAPS last year. They were so crowded during the restaurant week that I think the quality of the food went down. That is the down side of restaurant week.
Looking for Unusual restaurants in OC (orange county) HELP!
Das, Fogo de Chao is $44 for Dine LA now. Is it worth the drive up there ? what does it have that Agora doesn't ? Thank
Favorite Bun Cha in L.A.?
No I have not tried. If they do not have bun cha, I am sure they must have Bun Thit Nuong, almost the same. Bun Cha has pork patties, Bun Thit Nuong only has grilled BBQ porks.
Favorite Bun Cha in L.A.?
Pho 79 has several locations, there is one in Alhambra. I know this family, their foods are always decent. I have not been to the Alhambra location but almost sure you will not be disappointed. Their menu have several vietnamese dishes, not only Pho. BTW, Pho is very good.
ISO Recommendations - Best of Little Saigon
Agree. The original Trieu Chau's broth is still superior to New Trieu Chau. When New Trieu Chau first opened I quit going to Trieu Chau and switch to New Trieu Chau because I do not want to wait in line, However, one day I came back to the original Trieu Chau and realized that their broth is way better. I now going back to the original Trieu Chau, putting up with problems of parking, standing in line for the better quality of food. After all, I am a foodie, I eat where the food is best. New Trieu Chau is still OK, but if you want the best, go to the original Trieu Chau at First and Newhope.

ISO Recommendations - Best of Little Saigon
This is an excellent post for Little Saigon. I like to update the information. Pho Bolsa at Magnolia and Westminster has been closed. You can go to the original Pho Bolsa at Brookhurst and Westminster next to Rite Aid. My other two favorite Pho are Pho Lu on Westminter Ave just East of Brokkhurst on the north side and Pho 86 SE corner Hazard and Brookhurst. If you go to Brodard, buy the Nem Nuong Cuon to go, the place is crowded, overrated, overpriced, terrible sevice, nothing else is good beside Nem Nuong Cuon. Nobody has beaten this place's dipping sauce yet. So buy it to go, don't eat there, you better off going to Brodard Chateau on Trask (own by same family), the price is a little higher but the decoration, the service and ambiance is very nice.

Son of a Gun, Hungry Cat, Mozza and then what?
I am Vietnamese living in Little Saigon, Orange County. Lee Sandwich to Vietnamese Banh Mi is like Mc Donnald to hamburger. If you ever go to OC look for Tan Hoang Huong ( on Edinger Ave, Santa Ana) or Teo Sandwich, they have way better Banh Mi than Lee's. Lee's banh mi is C+. I have to give Lee the credit of making banh mi a mainstream food item. The guy knows how to market it, he does not know how to make the best banh mi.
Who has the best hummus?
I used to love Sabra, until I look at the sodium content, too salty, 150mg in 28gr. I found Sadaf Hummus at a middle eastern grocery (think the name is Eltaybat) in Anaheim which has less sodium with the same quality or better.
Unforgettable PIZZA CRUST you ever eaten in Southern California

Unforgettable PIZZA CRUST you ever eaten in Southern California
On my visit to Vancouver last year, I had the most unforgettable pizza from Romano Pizza, downtown Vancouver. The crust was so good, it stayed yummy next morning after reheat on the hotel's coffee burner. They also put sesame on the crust. I am still searching for a comparable crust in OC or LA area. Have you ever eaten a pizza that you never forget the taste, especially the crust ? I am looking for a good pizza, not only because the fresh ingredients but because the crust is unforgettable.
Best Desserts in OC
Xanh Bistro on Brookhurst / Edinger behind Denny has good and different desserts. Fried Banana/Vanilla Icecream/Spicy Chocolate Sauce ($5). Coconut Creme Brulee, Bread Pudding w/ Coconut Tamarind Sauce. Their dinner menu is very good too. Reasonable prices.

If you care about service then go to Xanh. There are other Vietnamese places with good food but lousy services and cheaper price. Vietnamese go to these places because of the cheap prices. Whenever I want to take my non-Vietnamese friends out, I usually take them to Xanh Bistro or Brodard Chateau. I am a Vietnamese foodie.

Recommendations for Orange County Restaurant Week 2011 ?
Postings on LA Restaurants probably get more responses. There are many good choices in OC Restaurant Week such as Tradition by Pascal, Palm Terrace, TAPs. I like 320 Main because of its creme brulee, it is very special, not liquidy and was different. I think it has liquor in it. And the mixed drinks were exceptional. TAPs is a very good choice too, I strongly recommend TAPs in Fullerton. Enjoy !

Visiting Cleveland, which restaurants I should not miss ?
diver4, thank for your time, I tried Original House of Pancakes on my previous visit to Cleveland. It was very good and I plan to try their location here in OC, California. Following are restaurants people should not miss when visiting Cleveland: Lola, L'Albatros, Moxie, Crop, B Spot and Yours Truly. My son loved the steak and deserts at Moxie. Lola, L'Albatros and Crop are restaurants I can come back again and again. Yours Truly Beachwood is a small place but the food is consistent and the staff is friendly. I liked the Chicken Wrap and The Gyro at Yours Truly, Their Hummus is not that great. If I come back to Cleveland area I would try Fire and the places visited by DDD on Food Network. For my 3 weeks at Cleveland I have tried enough, and spent enough. Forbes rated Cleveland as the most miserable city, I think it is B.S. Cleveland is a beautiful city with nice and unique restaurants, beautiful houses, I enjoyed my time here. So long Cleveland.
Visiting Cleveland, which restaurants I should not miss ?
Dear friends,Thank very much for all of your responses. Thank to your recommendations I have tried the following places: L'Albatros, B Spot, Balaton. I was not impressed with Balaton. I could not get a reservation at Lolita it was bookedup. L'Albatros is excellent, especially the services. The hamburger at B Spot was excellent, I tried Fat Doug, my wife had Lola Burger, I liked Lola better. Price is stiff, I would prefer In and Out Burger in California where I can get a very good burger for less than $3. When you're in California do not miss In-and-Out Burger. Thank you Cleveland. I hope I will come back someday to try all of your recommendations.

Visiting Cleveland, which restaurants I should not miss ?
I am going to be in Cleveland for a few weeks, and probably will not come back. Which restaurant I should not miss, i.e. I can not find the same food in another city. I have eaten at Lola, Crop, Moxie, Cleveland Chophouse, Yours Truly. All of these restaurants are good except Cleveland Chop House. Just saw Whitmore BBQ on TV . Where else should I go. I am from Orange County, California. As always, your recommendations are greatly appreciated.
