Curing Salt/Pink Salt/Salt Peter

I'm in Glendale. I tried to find Morton's Tender Quick at the Grocery to no avail.

Curing Salt/Pink Salt/Salt Peter

Hello Board,

Does anyone know where in Los Angeles I can find Curing Salt/Pink Salt/Salt Peter to cure my own meats, such as Pastrami and Bacon.

Thanks,

Bakery & Caterer Recommendation Needed

I have been tasked with providing a cake for my friend's birthday on Saturday. He want's a carrot cake and I have no idea where to go. We are on the east side, so I was thinking Porto's, but am open to trying something new.

I also need to provide some snacks for the party, does anyone know of a low-cost caterer that I can pay to do all of the work?

Thanks,

RP

Happy Hour in Burbank or surrounding area

I am meeting an old friend for drinks and a bite to eat tomorrow in the Burbank area and I have no idea where to go. Are there any good places for Happy Hour in the area. We are meeting around 6.30ish. It would be great if there is a HH that goes until 8 or something. Thanks in advance for all of your help.

Italian restaurant in the Hollywood/WeHo adjacent area

I am meeting a friend for dinner tonight and we would like to have Italian.

We have been to Osteria Mozza and loved it, but would like to try out a new place.

Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Is there a better sandwich place than Bay Cities???

I totally dig Bay Cites, but I too live on the East Side. So my fav place on this side of town is Mario's Italian Deli in Glendale. They have a combo sandwich that is comparable to the Godmother and is very good in a pinch.

I also like the Pasadena Sandwich Company. When I can't get to Langer's for a Pastrami, I go here. The owner is really nice and he makes a great sandwich.

Never been to Billy's in Glendale, is it any good?

Indian Buffet in or around Beverly Hills

Hey Y'all,

I work in Bev Hills and a co-worker and I are looking for a Indian Buffet, any ideas?

Thanks,

RP

I don't have rezzies and I wanna go to Osteria Mozza tonight for dinner, possible?

I know what you are thinking, this broad mush be smoking crack. I'm not, but I really, really, really want to try this place tonight. Has anyone on this board been able to walk-in and have a meal at the bar? What time should I try to go?

If I don't get in or I can't wait for hours on end, is there another restaurant that I can go for a nice dinner.

Thanks,

RP

Any recs for a B-Day dinner on the eastside?

I have a friend that wants to take me out for my Birthday. We both live on the Eastside (Glendale and Silverlake) and we are looking for a great place for a great meal.

Where should we go for a really good B-day dinner? Blair's or that newish place in Atwater? We are down for anything, so let the recs flow!

Late Night Happy Hour

I have a group of friends that would like to go out for happy hour tonight. Are there any places around the Beverly Center/Hollywood that offer such a thing?

Thanks

Wholesale Seafood (Crab)

I want to have a Crab Broil for about 25 people in a few weeks. Is there somewhere that I can get bulk crab and shrimp for a good price?

Thanks!

Great Burger and Beers - Glendale/Pas/Burb Area

I love the burger at Barru in Montrose. The atmosphere is chill and the food is great. They even have Jazz on the weekends.

En Sushi vs. Zip Fusion

I am meeting my friend for Sushi in the Los Feliz/Silverlake area and they just opened a new En on Hilhurst. If there is a better place in the area, please let me know.

En Sushi vs. Zip Fusion

My friend wants to have sushi at one of the above places. Since I have not been to either, which one is the better choice?

Does anyone know what happend to Rotisserie Chix of Cali. in Pasadena on Colorado?

I drove by that place the other day hoping to score parking in front, so I could get some takeout and noticed that it was a pizza and gelato place.

Does anyone know if they are totally out of business or just moved locations. I can truly say that it was one of my fav. places for rotisserie chix. Plus, I absolutely adored the homemade hotsauce that was available, only if I had the recipe.

Sushi Zo & K-Zo

Good evening fellow 'hounds.

I have been reading about these places recently and would like to get some addtional info. First of all, these are 2 completely different restaurants, correct? Secondly, in your opinion which place is better?

I am looking for a new regular sushi joint. My fav. place to go was Sushi Today on Temple, but that place is no longer around. Recently I have been going to Azami cause it is on the way home from my office in Bev. Hills. I also have been to Sushi Ike in Hollywood and I really like that place.

How does Sushi Zo and K-Zo compare to the places I listed above?

Carmel Apples in Bev. Hills?

Hey Y'all,

I want to go out a lunch time and get some carmel apples for my office mates. Is there a place in the Bev. Hills area where I can buy such a thing? I am also willing to pick up some other type of treat if there is a great recommendation for the neighborhood.

Help - Good Sushi place in Hollywood tonight!

I am going to a show at the Pantages tonight with a friend and we would like to get Sushi before the show. Are there any good Sushi restaurants in the area?

Pinkberry in Westwood- the real thing, not just hype

I am so there with you, running pig. I had Pinkberry for the first last Wed. and I went 2 additional times before the week was out.

I can truly say that I am addicted, that yogurt is so GOOD! I am going to stop on my way home from work tonight. I can't wait until they open one in the Glendale/Pasadena area. I can literally see myself going everyday - I wish they had a frequent customer card.

Pinkberry Locations [moved from L.A.]

I must admit that I am a bit curious about Pinkberry. It's kinda like a Unicorn; I keep hearing about it, but have not experienced it for myself.

Does any know where all of the Pinkberry locations are? Do you know if there are any plans to open a Pinkberry in Pasadena?

Thanks

Any one been to RED WHITE AND BLUE in Pasadena

There was a Blues artist that night I went, but the do have live music on the weekends.

Any one been to RED WHITE AND BLUE in Pasadena

I went there a few weeks ago with a friend and we thought that the food was really good. I had a Watermelon and Blue Cheese Salad that was out of this world. I loved how the flavors worked together. I also had a Risotto appetizer which was OK, not nearly as good as the one I had a Celestino. I also had this Beef Slider Duo that was excellent. The skirt steak was really tender and the short ribs were really flavorful. My friend had the halibut and liked it a lot.

The wine and cheese tend to be really popular with most of the poeple dining there. All and all the place was pretty good, but it is a tad bit pricey. I will go back, but hopefully they will get a happy hour going, so I won't break the bank.

Prime Rib LA-SFV

I like the Prime Rib at Tam O'Shnaters. It is part of the Lawry family, so the quality is top notch and it is not as nearly as crowded as Lawry's and the price is lower as well.
