Big East Tournament

Thanks, that looks good, and it is looks like a good place to hang out between sessions.

Big East Tournament

I will be at the Big East Tournament March 6-10, spending a lot of time at Madison Square Gardens. I am looking for some lunch and dinner recommendations for between and after games. I like all kinds of food, and am looking for reccomendations for both fine dining and cheaper fare if it is good. We will have a couple of hours between sessions, and the last game will probably over around 11pm. Thanks to all in advance.

Lobster by mail

Foodie stops in Bologna

I will be in Bologna on a Monday afternoon. I am looking for some interesting food shops to go to. I have heard of Tamburini. What are some others? Are they all around the same area? Thanks for your help

Day trip from Florence - Suggestions

I am looking for some help regarding a day trip from Florence. We are already spending one day in Bologna, and one day in Sienna and San Gimignano. I was thinking about going to the Cinque Terre for the day, but some chowhounds have suggested that the crowds would probably be unbearable. The day I have free is June 22 (Sunday). Does not have to be food related, but hopefully somewhere food and wine will be consumed. We can rent a car if we have to, or take a train. Does anyone have any ideas?

Need help with Cinque Terre

Unfortunately, that is not an option. The only option would be not to go at all. How bad will it be?

Need help with Cinque Terre

Chowhounds...

I need help with some suggestions for the Cinque Terre. I will be in Florence, and going to spend the day walking, riding, and exploring the cities of the Cinque Terre. All suggestions of places to see and eat would be greatly appreciated. Should I attempt to see all five towns, or are a few better than the rest? The plan is to take a train from florence, then to walk, train or boat from area to area. I know it is not a lot of time to see the area, but that is why I need the help. Your help is greatly appreciated. We are leaving in a little over two weeks, and will be visiting the Cinque Terre on Sunday June 22. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Rome - Must Do Foodie Pilgrimmage Stops?

Thanks to both of you soo much. Are there any other must see places to eat in the neighborhood? I love the local places.

Rome - Must Do Foodie Pilgrimmage Stops?

vvvindaloo,

I will be in rome in about three weeks. I will be staying at the Hotel Diplomatic on V. Colonna. I am not sure what part of town that is, but if you could tell me about a regular morning bar nearby, or any other nice spots, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

The 2008 cherries are here !!!

I will be in Napa this week heading to Calistoga, are there any good places to get cherries down there? I love cherries, and am from the midwest. Would love to get my hands on some. Thanks

Salumeria

I love good italian cured meats. I am going to in in San Francisco and have a few hours to burn after a meeting and am willing to go anywhere for some good salame, sopressata or capocollo. Can anyone give me some suggestions? I saw Boccalone was opening a place in the summer, but is there somewhere else I can go. Plan on being there this week, May 14th.

Gourmet/Eclectic Food To Bring Home

Whaat is mostarda?

Grocer/Cheese in Venice

How do you think gorganzola would keep on my flight home from Italy to the states? I know hard cheeses like parm or romano wouldnt have any problem, but softer cheeses like gorgonzola? That gorgozola torta sounds wonderful, and I will definitely try it there. Does anyone know how they tell the difference between a raw milk cheese and one that has been aged over 60 days? I dont plan on bringing any raw milk cheeses home, but I also dont want to show up with customs and have them confiscate my items.

Grocer/Cheese in Venice

I will also be in Venice soon. It will be my last stop before returning to the states, and I would like to buy some cheese to bring home with me. I am looking for a local cheese shop where I can buy some really good cheeses and have them vacuum packed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

14 days in Italy, Need help, first timer

Thank you, I will definitely look into that.

14 days in Italy, Need help, first timer

I am going to Italy in the middle of June for two weeks. We will be moving a bit. A couple of days in Sorrento, 4 in Rome, 5 in Florence and 2 in venice. I need help with some really good family restaurants. I am a food lover, but really want the traditional trattoria. I will splurge for an occasional pricey meal, but looking for the authentic places. Any help anyone can give will be greatly appreciated.

Looking for a nice, contemporary dinner downtown Indy

I have not been to Elements, but I have been to St. Elmos. It is another steak place, but I love it. If you go you have to have the shrimp cocktail. The sauce is made with fresh horseradish and is very hot and sooo good. I sit there and just eat the sauce.
