This isn't in a neighborhood you ask, but Felcaro on Cambridge Street is open until 4AM (I think). You could certainly double park and run in... or call ahead and they'll bring it to your car. Their pizza is pretty good, actually - suggest the BBQ chicken, buffalo chicken, and bruscetta!

Go to Scampo all the time, just not on Cambridge Street (is it?). A place ike Punjabi Daba would be great! Ma Soba... yeah, not really into it.

Birthday Shopping - Gourmet Food, Quirky Kitchen Appliances/Dishware
I have a friend's 30th birthday coming up and I'd like to buy him some off-centered gourmet food, quirky kitchen stuff, and/or dishware. The only thing is that he literally has EVERYTHING! Any particular shops in Boston/Cambridge/Brookline accessible via MBTA? Already explored Kitchen Arts, Christina's, and thinking of heading over to Cambridge today... gift necessary for Saturday PM.

Cambridge Street - Beacon Hill - Frustrating!
As a resident of Beacon Hill for nearly 8 years, I cannot describe my frustration with the lack of quality food on Cambridge Street.
Pierrot and Antonios are my go-to's, but the vacancies on Cambridge Street are just depressing. Sure, the Shang is being replaced with Poe's Tip Tap Room (eventually), and Phoenicia is being replaced with a Fin's (not that we need another sushi place), currently, the vacant spots are massive. Spotted Apron. Gone for years. Villa Mexico - end of year. White Hen and The Federal are gone. And is it just me, or are the Au Bon Pain and Finagle Bagel sub par compared to other locations?
Some good news - Harvard Gardens recently re-did their menu and it's better.
Maybe I'm just a complainer, but I'm just frustrated. I'd LOVE to see some wonderful take-away/eat in type of places, international cuisine other than sushi, wonderful healthy vegetarian/salad options.
What do you guys think? What's the problem with Cambridge Street and what can be done about it? What would you like to see on Cambridge Street?

Freezing Cider Donuts?
Is it possible to freeze apple cider donuts? My friend just brought me a 1/2 dozen and there's no way I can eat them all.. but don't want to a.) have them go bad or b.) bring them to the office. Can I freeze them? Best method?

I went with a Buywithme voucher last weekend too. Service was horrific. As in, only two waitresses who were both on their second night. It was really terrible. Meal start to finish took over two hours, wrong food presented to us three times, brought us a charcuterie platter after I asked about the vegetarian entree... bad news.

Sorellina had amazing apple cider donuts in the fall. I hate to say they were better than any cider donut you'd get at an orchard store, but it's true :/
Rattlesnake is doing an amazing donut dessert right now. They also have a donut item on their brunch menu that is to-die-for.
