Not that I know of, but if someone knows differently, please share. And of course there's no answering machine/message when you call them. Thanks anyways!

Downtown Dinner Prix Fixe Menu up to $70 for TOMORROW!

We ended up going to Forte and ordered off their regular menu. The feedback was positive and it suited everyone's budgets.

I was a bit disappointed by their dessert menu, nothing really appealed do anyone.

Their menu is very appealing. However, the reviews I've read indicate the food/value ratio isn't very good.

Tonight they have live jazz which would be a really nice touch. I just don't want to be told that the food was unimpressive and expensive.

Ok ok. Sultan's Tent is completely off the menu. I don't care for it and after the multiple warnings, it's an easy decision to scrap it. Thanks!

Hmmm...ok, perhaps we can do that instead.
Nota Bene is a big favourite of mine. Any others on that list serve "canadian" cuisine? Thanks.

Downtown Dinner Prix Fixe Menu up to $70 for TOMORROW!

I'm looking for a good restaurant downtown that has a dinner prix fixe menu to hold a business dinner for a group of out-of-towners.

I've crossed 360 @ CN Tower off the list as the weather this week won't allow for nice views.
Canoe's tasting menu is over the $70 threshold.

I'm looking at Sultan's Tent but it's not my preferred location. I don't think the service and food are that great. Dhaba also has pix fixe menus but may be a bit underwhelming for the guests.

Suggestions???? Thanks!

Where to find best Pot du Creme au Chocolat in TO?

The bailey's may be a no-go but I'll keep it in mind. Thanks.

Where to find best Pot du Creme au Chocolat in TO?

Where can one find the best of these little temptations? Ideally I'd like to find a restaurant that serves them but a bakery will do as well.

My friend, whose birthday is coming up soon, can't stop raving about the pot du creme au chocolat she had at Corner House for a Summerlicious/Winterlicious menu one year. I've never seen it on their menu again. :(

I know Nota Bene, Niagara Street Cafe, and Forte have them on their menus at times...however, they don't seem to be on there right now.

HELP PLEASE! I'd like to present her with a delicious pot du creme au chocolat selection for her birthday.
Thanks in advance!

Toronto - Resto/Lounge Recommendations for Bday Bash

Rabbit,

Phew! Glad you understood where I was coming from.

I checked out Harlem, didn't know about it at all! It's not really "my style" but it looks like a cool place nonetheless. As for the Drake, I had my 23rd birthday there and they did a great job of accommodating my sister...I just don't want to repeat the same venue so close together.

I ended up reserving a table inside at Sidecar, I wish I could reserve a patio table!

...and then my sister told me she got a better invite to partake in some frosh event...so I guess I don't have to worry about my underage guest anymore! *sigh*

Oh well, plenty of bars/lounges in Little Italy the rest of us can head to.

Toronto - Resto/Lounge Recommendations for Bday Bash

Thanks JaclynS for your thoughts on Laide, Foundation Room and Sidecar. I by no means meant my post as a solicitation for places in Toronto that "allow" underage drinking. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Toronto - Resto/Lounge Recommendations for Bday Bash

I'm looking for a place in Toronto to hold my 25th birthday party. I'm looking for a restaurant/lounge that can accommodate a group of about 15 people on a Saturday evening. Good food is important but so is good ambience and as I don't want to change venues throughout the evening, I'd like a place that serves food and plays music.

I've been considering Laide, Foundation Room and Sidecar. Although Laide or Foundation Room would probably be perfect, there is one issue - my sister is not 19. She is the only one not of legal age in the party, but a very important part so excluding her is not an option. Sidecar might do but I don't see any info on their site regarding music. Do they have live music/DJ?

Recommendations? Many thanks in advance!

Monday night group dinner in Toronto

So we ended up going to Insomnia Cafe. It was great! Everyone enjoyed their meal, we got separate bills, lots of space. It didn't ever get too loud for conversation. My vegan friend was actually impressed with the number of vegetarian choices that she could customize to her needs. Bonus!
The DJ played some oldies and that just got everyone naming off some of their favourites from the 70s & 80s. They dimmed the lights more and more as the evening went on so that caused a few confused looks but nothing to complain about.
Thanks for the recommendations!

Monday night group dinner in Toronto

There really isn't a neighbourhood preference...as long as it's accessible on the subway and parking isn't $20+!

Monday night group dinner in Toronto

Thanks! Both of those places are on my list of restaurants to visit oddly enough.
With such a large group though, I find that it's best to stick with easily recognizable dishes...sometimes it makes for a bland-ish dining experience...but alas.

Monday night group dinner in Toronto

I just recently visited Insomnia and really enjoyed my meal. It was a Friday night so the place was loud and VERY busy. I guess this wouldn't be as much of a concern on a Monday... Apparently they have a back section that might be able to accommodate a big group but I didn't notice it when I was there. Can anyone comment on it? Is it appropriate for dinner or just drinks?

As for Terroni...it has a menu that would cater well to this group except for the note about no modifications...which, from what I hear, they're very strict about. But I can give them a call to check if making a vegetarian dish, vegan is still considered a no-no.

Thanks for the suggestions!

...wow...i have noob written all over me.

Affordability is also important. It's mostly a student (20 something) group so entrees between $10-$25.

Monday night group dinner in Toronto

I'm looking for a restaurant that can accommodate a group of about 15 people for dinner. Here's the criteria I'm dealing with:

1) spacious - no one likes eating on top of the people at the next table
2) extensive menu - not interested in prix fixe
3) vegetarian options - there's also a vegan in the group so some vegan options would be a bonus!
4) accessible/close to a subway station/parking - most people will be using the TTC, but there will be some cars as well
5) open Monday nights!! - a lot of places I've found are closed

I'm considering Baton Rouge at the Eaton Centre BUT it's not very vegetarian/vegan friendly. =(

Suggestions? Thanks in advance.
