Best burger in Mon/OC?
Believe it or not, Basil T's in Red Bank has a fabulous burger served on Panini bread. Harpoon Willies in Wall has great burgers too. I did a post on JerseyBites.com on the best burgers in New Jersey a while back. You might find a new place or two in that article. Just search "Best Burgers in New Jersey"
Brickwall, Asbury Park
Yep, the Grilled Shrimp with Parmesan Grits is unbelievable. Even found a recipe that comes close so I can make it at home whenever I want.
Good seafood restaurant in Monmouth/Ocean Cty NJ?
Shipwreck is my home away from home, always fabulous seafood and Monday night is their Lobster night, but it might be too "gourmet" for some and dinner almost always costs us close to $100. Red's Lobster Pot is definitely more casual and a BYOB. I haven't been there in years because of the very rude reception of the hostess, but the food was really good back then. I'm sure its still the same.
What is your favorite new Monmouth County Discovery?
We just had dinner at Trinity Restaurant in Keyport last night. It will be open one year in June. The food was excellent. My hunny had the Catalan Style clams with Chorizo as an appetizer. I had the Foie gras. You can check out their full menu at www.trinitykeyport.com. The atmosphere is like no other around. Trinity is located in an old church. The owners built a second floor that overlooks the first floor and has all custom Iron work for the railings and chairs. It is the perfect venue for dancing, which they will start hosting this Saturday with a Latin night. Unfortunately, I'll be away on business, but they are planning a Swing Night in the very near future. I plan to do a blog post with pictures on the restaurant this week. They change their menu with the seasons, which I really appreciate. Trust me, its really worth a visit.
Best burger in Mon/OC?
I grew up on Barnacle Bill's burgers. They're always voted best in NJ by NJ Monthly I think but since my friends aren't behind the bar cooking anymore, I don't make it into Rumson very often. I really like the burgers at Basil T's in Red Bank. They serve them on toasted bread instead of a big bun, which I happen to really like. I live about a block from Frankie's in PPB, so they get my vote too.
