Noma Reservation Spots Available July 7th

that is, if Erda doesn't work out - I see she is ahead of me for the request -

Noma Reservation Spots Available July 7th

I can do three to join you - PM me -

I hate to be this unimaginative, but post-research, pre-trip, might you celebrate or lampoon our choices?

Wonderful report - loved reading it! We'll be eating at Frenchie in July at the 9:30 seating. Booked two months ago and that was all that was available which was fine with us (even though we have a flight home the next morning). This will be our third time dining there. I know there are some naysayers for this place, but we have always had enjoyable meals there, and everyone is lovely. I booked our second visit while we were there on our first, even though it was months away.

Paris Hotel Bar for Cocktails

Am looking for advise on which of the grand hotel bars
to visit for pre-dinner cocktails one evening. I visited
the George V in the past and it was lovely. Am wondering
if I should return or try a new spot? Thanks!

Help - Village Trattoria

Thanks again! I was able to get a reservation at Otto. Gottino looked good, but their no reservations policy won't cut it on this trip. Morandi also looked good, I'll table it for another time.

Help - Village Trattoria

Thanks - I will check them out. I am looking for casual Italian, preferably in the West Village.

Help - Village Trattoria

Just got word need to get into NY this weekend
and make a reservation for an inexpensive
trattoria in the (West) Village for Saturday night.
Sorry, if info might be in previous posts, but
have to get done asap.
Can anyone help with suggestions? Thanks!

Les Ombres vs. Cafe L'Homme

Thanks very much again!! I'll keep you posted !!

Les Ombres vs. Cafe L'Homme

Thanks John! I only rejected le Ciel de Paris because I did it last year for Bastille Day, and the menu isn't very conducive to a US 16 year old eater who is not much of a foodie. Even for me, they made a substitution. I was even thinking of taking one of the dinner cruises down the Seine, but I don't think the food is any better, and I heard the boats can't go as close to the Tower as they have previously been able.

Les Ombres vs. Cafe L'Homme

Thanks very much souvenir, for your wonderful feedback. Thanks to everyone else also, who took the time to respond to me. I am probably going to wait until I get there, peruse the menus, and get a lay of the land. I have reservations at them all, so at least I am covered. Maybe I'll just let the 16 year old pick and that way will consider myself off the hook, in some way!!

Les Ombres vs. Cafe L'Homme

thanks for the input everyone. No one mentioned the dress code for the places,
can someone provide some insight?

Les Ombres vs. Cafe L'Homme

I chuckled when I read your advice "eat a real dinner before your dinner there". That is intriguing, but how can you get away with ordering there, what would you get if not a full dinner? Would they note glare at you (with their oh so lovely model faces) if you just ordered drinks and a starter and dessert?

Les Ombres vs. Cafe L'Homme

I'll check into it, thanks again! I asked Soup for his thoughts, but haven't heard back. I'm lucky enough to get to Paris at least twice a year, and the spots I've asked about are not ones I'd usually go to - but am looking to make her trip special. PS Do you have a link to the Lobrano article?

Les Ombres vs. Cafe L'Homme

I did le Ciel de Paris last Bastille Day, John. We did have a great view, right smack center in front of the Tower. Our meal was pretty good, and the staff was very accommodating with dietary restrictions. I wanted to choose one of these two for a specialbirthday meal with my 16 year old niece who isn't a foodie but would love the views. How do you feel about George's at the Pompdou Center, I'm thinking about that for this Bastille Day. I know there are many greater food experiences but I'm picking based mostly on views, though if the food is awful, I'll stay clear. Thanks!

Les Ombres vs. Cafe L'Homme

Can I get some comparisons on the two choices listed above?
Food Quality/Atmosphere/Views??
I've read guide book entries but really would like some first hand opinions.
They are in the running for a birthday dinner for a Sweet 16. Thanks!!

Monday Lunch in Paris

I enjoyed the food at Le Reminet recently, but it was filled with too many tourists for my taste, and I found the service to be less than stellar.

Nomiya Help

I booked a workshop for my time there in July. The prices seem a bit steep to me for lunch when there is no menu choice. As I noted, we have a couple of finicky eaters in our party. I don't mind spending $27 euro on a workshop where not every course would be eaten, but for those prices at lunch and dinner, it might be a different story. I did see parisjo's pics and report and it sounded like a dream. A great experience I'm sure, for a 16 year old Paris newbie.

George's at the Pompidou

Does anyone know if this place would be open on Bastille Day?
Looking for some ideas...last year was at Le Ciel de Paris, loved it,
but done it, and it won't work this year for a couple in our party who
are rather finicky eaters.

Esperance Vezelay-A wonderful meal

I'm glad you had a great meal. My husband and I went there a few years back and also enjoyed it immensely. I have been reading though, that alot of people have been unhappy with their experience.

Nomiya Help

How do you think they would handle dietary restrictions for a workshop?

Nomiya Help

Am trying to arrange a tour of the above for early to mid July. All I see available on the website
are workshops. The tours, along with lunch and dinner reservations (which I know are impossible to obtain) are not open yet, just the message "opening soon" is on the site. I know the spot is set to close in July, but I'm not sure what to think since the workshops are still showing as taking place. Can anyone shed any info? I've also emailed the facility but have not heard back. I only hesitate to book a workshop because I have a couple of picky eaters in my party. Thanks very much!

Northern Ireland Advice

An traveling to Northern Ireland in a few weeks and need some restaurant recommendations. I will be staying in Bambridge in County Down.
Thanks for any and all advice!

Sunday Dinner near Theater District

Sorry, got it - thanks for both suggestions!

Sunday Dinner near Theater District

Do you have a location for Marseille?

Sunday Dinner near Theater District

Hi! Need a recommendation for a spot near the theater district to have dinner on Sunday. As this is a last minute trip, it can't be a place that needs reservations too far in advance. Not looking for ultra fancy, but good food and a nice atmosphere (no kids). Thanks.

Early Dining Near the Opera Bastille

Souphie, Do you also know Cafe du Passage on rue du Charrone?

Early Dining Near the Opera Bastille

Thanks Souphie, knew you'd come through for me again!

Early Dining Near the Opera Bastille

I have tickets to the Opera Bastille, the performance begins at 7:30.
I'd like to grab a bite to eat beforehand, rather than when the show gets out
which I imagine would be near 10 pm. Is there any bistro type place that
would serve food continuously or beginning at 6 pm?

Quick Trip to Bordeaux

I'm taking a two night trip to Bordeaux next month.
Am reaching out for info - is St. Emilion worth seeing
or should I concentrate on the city of Bordeaux?
I am staying about an hour north of Bordeaux and
have a few appointments set at wine Chateaux
such as La Mission Haut Brion, Estournel, Lynch
Bages, and Pichon Longueville. Can anyone
give insight on these properties? If I had to limit
myself to two, which two are must-sees?
Thanks for any suggestions!

Lunch near the Grand Palaia

Thanks again to everyone for their input! So Dodo, the place you are recommending is the Cafe Le Jardin du Petit Palace in the Petit Palais,
not the Mini Palais in the Grand Palais?

Also, Laidback...website for Chez Francis?
