London Restaurants-- Recommendations Needed

We had TERRIBLE service at Le Pain Quotidien over the weekend...From all of the knowing glances shared amongst other patrons, it appeared we were not the only ones. Food was decent but we won't be back anytime soon.

Afternoon Tea - all you can eat?

I've had tea at the Ritz, the Savoy, Brown's, and the Milestone (very cozy--worth checking out). At all places they were happy to refill our food and tea as many times as we liked.

Cheap eats in London, Earl's Court

Caveat-- Noor Jahan and Bombay Brasserie are likely out of your price range, but I cannot resist mentioning Indian food...Perhaps worth it if you want to splurge.

Cheap eats in London, Earl's Court

For cheap eats in Earls Court, there are new branches of Wagamama and Gourmet Burger Kitchen (I haven't been to GBK, but friends enjoy it) a block or two from the tube. There is also the very excellent Nando's! Yum. Also, I have always read great things about The Little French Restaurant but have never been. Looks basic from the outside but reviews are strong.

Not a far walk from Earl's Court is our very favorite Indian, Noor Jahan. Yes, they might rush you a bit but the food is out of this world. Also nearby is Bombay Brasserie, which has many fans on this board.

La Noisette, Tom Aikens, or Lindsay House??

My husband and I went to dinner at Roussillon for my birthday in November. While I cannot recall specifically what we ate, I know that it was all fantastic with first rate service. The room was lovely with tables spaced nicely so you really felt like you had some privacy...That being said, every meal I've had in recent months pales in comparison to my dinner at Gordon Ramsay Royal Hospital Road at the end of November! WOW!!!!

where to buy piemientos del padron?

Thanks Simon. I will check my local Waitrose this evening--would love to avoid the crush of the Borough market!

Btw, I love your blog! I am a frequent reader!

Courmayeur suggestions?

3 couples in the their early 30s heading to Courmayeur for a long ski weekend at the end of the month (fingers crossed for snow!). Will be looking for great food and fun/cozy atomosphere--anyone have restaurant suggestions for dinner? What about special spots on the mountain for lunch? I was SO pleased with the on-mountain eating options in Verbier, I hope Courmayeur can live up!

Good Eating Near Emirates Stadium

Thank you but I am hoping for more specific recommendations, so that I can book a table for dinner before the match on Wednesday (and perhaps closer than a 10 minute walk).

Good Eating Near Emirates Stadium

Looking for restaurants within walking distance of Emirates Stadium. Any type of cuisine is welcome but the restaurant needs to be appropriate for taking business contacts. My colleagues ate at the stadium's "fine dining" restaurant on Saturday and described it as the worst meal of their lives. Thanks!

Sardinia

Expensive is an understatement. Friends of mine were recently there in May. The only option for lunch is a €140/person set menu!! For lunch! At least you are going on miles--they paid for their trip and were very underwhelmed to say the least. Sorry...

London splurge

Gordon Ramsay on Royal Hospital Rd is closed until September 5th for renovations, so I guess that narrows it down for you!

More Croatia

Looking for restaurant suggestions on Trogir (1 night), Brac (2 nights), and Hvar (4 nights). A mix of splurges and hole-in-the-wall finds would be great. We'll be there the first week of August. Thanks!
