Dried Tarragon

I too adore tarragon, and have found that it works with many things. I LOVE it in tuna salad--add some shell pasta to your favorite tuna salad recipe, throw in some tarragon to your taste, and you have a wonderful, cooling summer dinner.

And as others have said, it's wonderful in eggs. I have even added it to canned vegetable beef soup for a drastically delicious improvement!

Mmmm...as you can see, the possibilites are almost limitless. Enjoy!

Graeter's Ice Cream...Anyone tried it?

Oh my gosh, Bellacoolaman! You brought back a wonderful childhood memory with your mention of Aglamisi's. I too grew up in Cincinnati and I THINK there was a gorgeous old-fashioned Aglamisi's in the Mariemont area back in the '60s - early '70s. Really beautiful, classic place with little marble tables and white wrought-iron furniture. Wonderful ice cream!

And re Graeters--I too grew up on the stuff, the Bittersweet Chocolate Sundae was a tradition every weekend for my my best friend and me. And yes, their chip ice cream is not to be missed. The basic chocolate chip is simply to die for, deliciously vanilla with those enormous hunks of chocolate. I'd pay that $70 shipping, especially if I could get some Skyline Chili with it! Mmmm...four-ways, here we come...*sigh*

Nepalese Kwati Soup

Hi, I'm looking for a good, relatively easy recipe for Nepalese Kwati (sprouted bean) soup. I would love it if the recipe were not too complicated and involved ingredients that are not too obscure--but I want it to be good, so I'm willing work for it!

There does not seem to be much on the web in general at all, so I thought I'd ask here. Thanks for your help!

A Horrible New Twist on "Beer and a Shot"

I just think the stuff is so nastily sweet, all on its own. Whatever pops your top I guess.

Fiendishly Simple Mediterranean Grilled Chicken

This sounds great but I think you left something out--do you marinate the chicken, or use it as a basting sauce, or what? Thanks, would like to try it.

Seeking an unusual wine...

I'm sorry, I guess I should have been more specific! We visited this family-owned restaurant frequently in the mid-90s...but they closed around (not sure!) '96, '97. Seems the kids wanted their parents to retire and get out of the kitchen!

Seeking an unusual wine...

See I hadn't thought of that--I thought that 'Orit Tej' was the whole name of the wine, not just 'Tej'. Will try that--thank you!

Unfortunately the restaurant closed in the '90s. So that's out.

Seeking an unusual wine...

Hi, I'm new to Chowhound but am finding the boards to be fun and interesting.

Years ago, here in Las Vegas, we had an Eritrean restaurant called The Red Sea. The food was incredible, and every time we ate there we had a bottle of a unique honey wine called 'Orit Tej'. I still have one of the empty bottles because I've never stopped looking for it since the restaurant closed. The label is gold and it says it is 'blended, processed, and bottled by Orit Tej Co.' in San Francisco. But Google comes up with nothing but one mention of someone drinking it in a restaurant on Haight Street. Frustrating!

This wine is nothing like mead, which makes me want to puke, or any other honey-type wines I have tried. So if anyone has any information on this wine, I would really appreciate it!

Thanks,
~~~Cyn
