Easter Brunch in the Princeton area?

Checked out Rats and the price is too high and the spread too grand.... the uni kids do not have access to a car so it might be fun to venture further afield. Noticed there are a few restaurants in Hopewell.

Paris December 2011 Restaurant with good accordion music?

Parigi, thank you for your advice. I have done that as well. I have written two specific accordion organizations in France and one sopcialized shop. I have also scanned the easily accessible concert listings ...to no avail. Often there are excellent musicians who play in venues such as restaurants to help ends meet. I am aware of the annual accordion festivals in Europe and checked out the myspace postings for some of the artists who have performed at these events. Folks who love food usually love music as well. I think my friends at chowhound are a great place to expand the search. Let's see what comes up.

C.R.A.S.H. B's February 20 2011 Help for healthy food near the Boston Hyatt?

Beachowolfe!
How did you do at C.R.A.S.H. B's? Our Daughter did indeed "kill" the 2K! She won it in the Junior LWT category with an absolutely awesome time! The best time in that category since... well, we can only see as far back as 2003. We asked the organizers to research back for us to see if anyone ever matched her time in Boston before. Thank you for your positive wishes and helpful advice. We ran out of time and had to drop back to Plan C, the Sunset Cantina instead of Petit Robert or Eastern Standard.I had mapped them all and was ready to go with their menus printed. The 'reading" of the three menus was the closest our LWT athlete got to food on the eve of the race. She has selected Petit Robert but...
I have linked this post to the Sunset Cantina because we must report that our celebration dinner with time constraints was absolutely wonderful! There was not one false step from the cheerful hostess who went out of her way to seat us where all our suitcases would not be bothersome to the calm and professional wait-staff to the engaging manager, who ensured that everything was well at our table. The Sunset Cantina is not gourmet dining but for the comfy, american-modern style of a casual sort, it was more than perfect!. They were even able to offer gluten-free options without so much as a bat of an eyelash. The request for olive oil on the side was not an issue. It was wonderful and relaxed. Our hero-coach who coxed our daughter to her win must deal with strict dietary restriction due to health. It is a "plus" when that is understood as a necessity and not interpreted as an indulgent demand.
True, the proximity to the Agganis Arena became the determining factor in our dining choice but we were pleasantly surprised by the comfort , ease and welcoming attitude. The beer was pretty good too! Kudos to those who welcomed us at the Sunset Cantina and thank you Chowhound friends for your helpfulness. Our time in Boston was fantastic.

That sounds good, do you have a specific place in mind? I see on the map that Chinatown is not a long walk away

Thanks for your reply.I love cyberspace.Watch for her! We will know each other because of chowhound. Lucky girl already knows where she is going! She is one of the CRASH B qualifiers who is a guest of Concept2. I erg too! Way to go that you are out there competing....I want to follow in your strokes...maybe next year. Good luck to you too. Your advice is great. D will be in a taper down by the time we get to Boston so we likely won't go to that fitness club but I was wondering about ergs. The Hyatt only has two of them.

C.R.A.S.H. B's February 20 2011 Help for healthy food near the Boston Hyatt?

I am a lightweight competitor needing to "make weight" on Sunday February 20th.I am looking for next to zero salt ,steamed or poached healthy lean chicken and fresh fruit and veggies....is there such a restaurant near 1 Lafayette - The Boston Hyatt? Or do I need to set up my steamer in the hotel room?

Also looking for for a REALLY GOOD restaurant to feast in after the event! The C.R.A.S.H. B's are being held at the Boston University’s Agganis Arena.

We are using public transit

Thank you

Vietnamese-Style Summer Rolls with Peanut Sauce

me too...I am a leftover goddess, filling my daughter's lunch with whatever we ate the night before gussied up with appropriate trim to suit the format...Less calories than bread, easy to hold while you do the home owrk you should have done the night before...very handy little invention. BTW be sure the bottom layer where you are assembling the roll (it shows from the front on the finished roll) is attractive, that would be where you usually see the nice pink shrimp. I use slivers of color like green and red pepper. You can get quite good at these little concoctions with practice. A dipping sauce, either traditional or peanut-free options goes with this. Make your own sauce idea from Thai sweet chili sauce to salsa to thin hummus to raita as most schools ban peanuts. Have fun!Impress the kids at the lunch table. Solves "lunch bag let-down" with a never go stale option for the days you forgot to wake up early enough to bake bread ;)

Sault Saint Marie Hungry Basketball Team

Next weekend, we are in Sault Saint Marie for the Ontario Basketball Championships. Any Chowhounds who like food AND understand the healthy nutritional needs of a sports team. Parents and team equals 28. We require a restaurant that could handle a crowd. We would prefer walking distance to the downtown Holiday Inn. Thank you for your advice.
