Gluten free flour used for gravy?

I have successfully made gravy using a gluten free flour (the Trader Joe's one). My only advice/observation is that the gluten free seems to absorb or take in more liquid than regular flour does. So be prepared to add in more broth for your gravy OR start off with less gluten free flour than the amount of regular flour would would have used.

Shishito pepper recipes needed

Does anyone have recipes or ideas for preparing shishito peppers that is NOT the ubiquitous simple pan fry or deep fry (with salt sprinkle) recipe?

Thanks in advance!

where can i find Sport Ritter White Chocolate with Hazelnuts??

Dittmer's in Mountain View carries more varieties of Ritter than most places in the South Bay/Peninsula. Give them a try.

Favorite Rooibos?

If you like Might Leaf's African Nectar, try Upton Tea's Rooibos Pretoria blend. I find them almost identical, and Upton is MUCH cheaper, although only available online.

Making Beef Wellingtons out of braised beef - your opinions?

I recently made a ground beef wellington, from Jamie Oliver's latest cookbook, and was pleasantly surprised by the result. The recipe calls for sauteing chopped carrots, onions, portabellos, and some spices. Then mixing the veggies with ground beef and stuffing the mixture into puff pastry. It turned out flavorful & moist. Visually, it wasn't as beautifully pink in the center as a traditional wellington, but if you're going for a lower cost version the ground beef might work for you!

Pre-pregnancy feast

I'm pregnant right now... so I will live vicariously through this post!

I'll add: pate, any type of cold cuts/lunch meats (like prosciutto). Perhaps cocktails to start? Enjoy!

buying acme bread in sunnyvale?

Acme has a stand at the Sunnyvale farmer's market on Saturdays. It's on Murphy Street, from 9am to around 1pm.

Whole Foods in Cupertino and Los Altos also carries Acme, although that's not much closer than Milk Pail.
