Best of LudoBites: Foie Gras Night at Gram & Papas - A Pictorial Essay
Yes.. I have to say that I just don't get the foam thing.. And never will.. That dish reminds me of when a dog heaves up foamy bile. Plus, the goop on the bottom really adds to the whole dog theme.. LOL. Cheers...
800 degrees --what's with the lettuce stems?
Right on!!! This place is a big joke and an insult to Neapolitan pizza.. My pops and I checked it out one afternoon and just standing in line watching before we ordered we, wanted to leave. But, curiosity prevailed and ordered a couple of pies.. Like I said "WHAT A JOKE!!" This place is like Subway or Chipolte but, with pizzas.. Just another example of corporate fast and casual food goons killing a good thing.. Just the marketing alone they do on their pizza box is a red flag to not eat there.. Better off spending the $$$$ flying or driving to Arizona to pizzeria Bianco for a Neapolitan done right. OH MAMA MIA!!!!
Ventura/Oxnard help?
Go and check out Bonanos Peruvian.. Their original place is in Reseda and just opened a second place in Ventura..
Where to buy - need good source for short rib meat or other thin sliced beef?

Soul Burgers in Inglewood
Concept and burgers look good and mouth watering. The only thing that gets me from seeing all of the pics is that none of the cheese on their burgs is not nicely melted.. Is it me?? I love and like to see (eat) a burg with the queso melted.. I'll still check them out.. Cheers all.. p.s. Even when they were featured on the local news their burgs still did not have the cheese melting down their abundant fixens....
Know a good knife sharpener ???
Go to the Sword and Stone in Burbank on Victory.. They do sharpening every Saturday for $4.00 a blade. Can't go wrong since they are blacksmiths and knife/weapon makers.. Just search the name and you can check out their site. Cheers..

Red Hamburger Relish
Love red burg relish. I remember when Montys was in Encino on Ventura blvd and they served a red relish.. As the years passed and they moved to Woodland Hills I have not been back since. Wonder if they still have it??? Anyway, I mix chili sauce with some pickle relish.. YUMMMM!!! Try it out.. Cheers..
MISTRAL SHERMAN OAKS......
Went to Mistral in Sherman Oaks last evening for my Pops B-DAY dinner.. I have to say that it was an overall pleasant experience.. I split the Whit Fish which was served with a classic lemon caper sauce.. Very good.. The chocolate souffle was a nice finish to the meal.. I love the classic New York feel of the place.. Even though the fair is quite on the pricey side it makes for a nice dining experience once in a while. Just thought I would give them a shout out.. Cheers all.....

cheapest grass fed beef?
Yo Serv. Gelsons(Van nuys blvd. Sherman Oaks). I always hit up this Gelsons since, it is in my hood, a few times a week right when they open and cruise over to their discounted meats section. Just this morning that's where I found a nice grass-feed rib eye and two thick, gorgeous, prime fillet Mignon that are not grass-feed which, I prefer.
"GUSHI" Westwood village
good to know. Thanks. I had the other 1/2 for dinner last night. lol.
"GUSHI" Westwood village
I drive my Father and hang w/ him every Friday to the UCLA Oncology center for his weekly treatments. He was hungry and craving his favorite something w/ rice. He loves Asian(sticky) rice w/ soy sauce. Anyway, I absolutely love Korean BBQ and I have been experiencing the wonderful aroma of grilled meats coming out of this place named GUSHI just south down the street from the In N Out Burg for some time. And today was the perfect opportunity to try this place. To keep this in an episodic format, I thought it was great for what it is. Clean, fresh, grilled meats, w/ other Asian offerings. I thought it was like Soot Bul Jeeb(is that correct?)on the run. Anyway, just thought I would share. Cheers Hounds.
Lala's Grill. Sheesh......
Is this the lalas in studio city??? What a sh*% hole!!! I hate when retaurants do that with the garlic. Its pretty sad. I guess the owners think that people do not know the difference w/ fresh vs processed garlic. I know I do..
I really wanted to like Mozza....
Mozza blah.. I'm flying to Phoenix for my fix @ Pizzeria Bianco. Yum!!!!!!!! Silverton wishes that she can produce a pizza like Bianco. Good Luck....
Is there a better sandwich place than Bay Cities???
Bay cities is good for their hot sandwiches. But, I can do w/out their cold Boars Head sandwich. Boars Head has got to be the worst product loaded w/ nitrates. The only cold sandwich @ bays for me would be their imported Parma. You should check out Hardys Meats on Coldwater and Moorpark in the Valley. Fresh roasted meats(hot/cold) on a nice roll. Check it out.
