Chefmonty's Profile
Baguette that actually tastes authentic
Bakers on Broad in Souderton. Don't know why they always seem to fly under the radar. Great European style breads and pastry
Applewood Smoked Bacon
I've gotten it at Trader Joe's, but haven't in a while. Don't get there as often as I'ld like
Burns night in Philly
Sly fox's is aways the Friday night closest to the actual Robbie Burns' Bday, so yes I've been to others. Sly Fox is my favorite. It is also the annual release of there Scotch Ale Gang Aft Agley (Robbie Burns Quote) they have Celtic Music, bag pippers, they "pipe in" the Haggis followed by Burns poetry readings, including"Ode To A Haggis". The poetry is usually open mic and all who get up to recite get a shot of whiskey
Burns night in Philly
Best Robbie Burns event in the area is Sly Fox Brewpub in Phoenixville. I never miss it

Friday Night
Latino Restaurant near Lansdale
I think there is. Further up 73 it is 55 mph. I think it is something like 35 or 40 mph through town. FYI, La Villa Mexican Grille is next to Skippack Italian Market
Latino Restaurant near Lansdale
There is a brand new Mexican restaurant in Skippack called La Villa Mexican Grille. I haven't been there yet, but they seem to be getting rave reviews on Yelp
Need steak without spending an arm and a leg in Marltown/Cherry Hill area
When I use to travel alot in NJ with my son's hockey team, I would often seek out Charlie Brown's, a small NJ chain of steakhouses. No Morton or Ruth Chris, but better than Outback. Nice salad bar too. There is one not far:
114-116 E. Main Street
Maple Shade, NJ 08052
Thai Newbie Help in Phillt Burbs
Thanks for the rec's. We hit Thai L'elephant in Phoenixville last night and enjoyed it very much. I was slightly disappoited with the fact that we ordered the spiciest dishes on the menu and they came with only the slightest amount of heat. Live and learn, next time I will make sure to ask for it extra spicy. Other then that, that food was well flavored and nicely prepared.
Next stop Pho Thai Nam !
Thai Newbie Help in Phillt Burbs
Thai newbie looking for what you would consider the gold standard in Thia cuisine in the philly burbs. Lets say 10 mile radius of Collegevile.
The Farm House Restaurant @ Skippack Golf Club
Haven't been there yet, but a little history... back in the 70's this is where the original Skippack Roadhouse got it's start before moving operations to the Skippack pike location until the original owners sold to Markel. Boy I'm showing my age.
Beer Garden in Philly
I love the beer garden at Stoudt's, but unless things have changed, they only open it during special events
gastropub bachelor party for small group
First place I thought of is South Philly Taproom. Lot of vegetarian options and a stellar beer selection.

Odd experience at Warrington Wegman's
Actually, in this case, you need to complain to your State Representive in Harrisburg to do a complete overhaul of our liquor laws.
Odd experience at Warrington Wegman's
Just food for thought. Wegmans did an end run around the PA Liquor Laws in order to be able to sell beer, so I would imagine they are under the microscope by the PLCB. I think we will all agree that our liquor laws are insanely complicated and are in serious need of revision.
Traditional Corned Beef & Cabbage dinner
Capone's or Brittingham's Pub I know for sure have it today
I'm turning 22 on Wednesday, where should I go for dinner?
My suggestion is the Caribou café,

This sounds very cool. If room is still available, count me in with +1 for Mrs Monty
Montco Bread?
I like Bakers on Broad in Souderton for European style breads

Great Italian near Valley Forge?
closest to Shannondell would be Gino's in Jeffersonville (Less then 5 mins) good food, but there have been some recent posting about less then stellar service, but I have not experience this. The Osteria suggestion is also a good one and also close by
Best Pretzels and Water Ice?
There is a place on Oregon ave around 13th. I think its called "Pop's"
R.I.P. Deeg's
A co worker of mine was there over the weekend and said he enjoyed it very much. They were very busy and had run out of a few item, but what he did get, he said was very good. Most notable was the pulled pork and the baked beans. I'm going to have to get there soon
Sunday Brunch Philly/Monco
Though not in Montco, The Desmond Hotel in Malvern use to do a nice Sunday Brunch
Downtown Pittsburgh help with no car
I took my son last year to visit U-Pitt and stayed in the same Hotel. They had a courtesy shuttle that took me anywhere in town that I wanted to go. I had my car, but left it parked and utilized the shuttle. I went to Fatheads Saloon on the Southside. Great beerbar!!!!!

Also consider the Church Brew Works for local beer. A micro brewery literally house in an old church.
