Bar Dining

Did some searching but didnt come up with much information regarding bar dining.

Trying to avoid reservations and keep our schedule fluid. Wife and I try and make a point of bar dining on vacation whenever possible. Visit will be in early August Fri-Mon. Other than no chain restaurants we are open to all suggestions. Will be staying at Trump and would prefer to be in walking distance.

We arrive after 9pm on Friday night and am thinking Sable for the first night for drinks and apps.

Other possible ive found are primehouse, oyster bar at shaws, frontera grill.

I know greektown isnt in walking distance from Trump but any of the Greek restaurants conducive to bar dining? Wife has seen too many movies and has flaming saganaki on her mind :)

Thanks in advance for the help.

Bar dining at Le Bernardin

Thank you all for the quick replies!

Discovering the bar only has 4 seats available is a bit disconcerting but we might roll the dice and hope for the best.

Bar dining at Le Bernardin

Read many related topics regarding recommended restaurants for bar dining. But have not seen Le Bernardin mentioned.

Is it possible to eat at the bar there? Do they serve a full menu? Pros/Cons?

Thanks for the help!

Anniversary - December in Las Vegas - Steak Restaurant on Strip

To clarify my reference to coldsteak was to craftsteak, the Tom Colicciho restaurant at MGM. Not StripSteak at Mandalay Bay.

Anniversary - December in Las Vegas - Steak Restaurant on Strip

CUT is our favorite as well. I agree about the dining area as not very romantic. Not sure if this works for you but we always sit in the lounge at CUT. They dim the lights in there, have big cozy, plush booths and no need to worry about reservations. Service has always been excellent as well. Definitely our favorite steakhouse in Vegas and we have tried them all.

On another note, If you're looking for cold steak try craftsteak. We actually nicknamed it ColdSteak. Not sure if we were gluttons for punishment but we tried on 3 seperate occasions and each visit our steak came out cold. Lesson learned.

Craftsteak or should I say coolsteak?

The wife and I tried Craftsteak twice during out last visit to Las Vegas. Both times we ate at the bar. Not because the restaurant was crowded but because we prefer the bar atmosphere. We can share a steak without feeling pressured to order 2 entrees, no need for advance reservations, etc.

On both visits we shared the Wagyu Beef Tartare for appetizer which was excellent. And both times we shared the grilled 16oz NY strip cooked MR with a side of Fried Zucchini Blossoms. We werent being rushed, service was friendly and excellent but on both occassions the steak arrived cool to luke warm. It still tasted great but I cant for the life of me figure out if this was on purpose or not. Maybe their big into letting the meat rest or something? Anyway, no we didnt say anything. Wasnt that a big of a deal. Just found it odd.

Interestingly enough after having been to most of the major steakhouses in Las Vegas ( Craftsteak, Prime, SW Steakhouse, Delmonicos, Stripsteak, DB Brasserie) this last visit we tried Cut. It was one of our favorites to date.

JW Marriott Las Vegas restaurant recommendations

We will be at the JW Marriott for 1 night. Any recommendations for the hotel restaurants or places nearby (we will have a car)?

Were up for any type of food or price range. Just not interested in anything near the strip since we will be there later in the month. Thanks.

Steak Tartare recommendations in Las Vegas

Hi All:

Looking for steak tartare recommendation in Las Vegas. Searched the boards and found Kobe Tartare at Craftsteak and Steak Tartare at DB Brasserie.

I thought I read somewhere that Mon Ami Gabi serverd it but dont see it listed on their menu.

Any other recommendations or suggestions? Thanks.
