Birthday Dinner- Del Posto/Scarpetta/Esca?

My husband made reservations at three restaurants for my birthday and is letting me decide- We've been to Del Posto and really enjoyed it, so I wanted to try something new- I've heard better things about Scarpetta as opposed to Esca. Thoughts?
Thanks so much!

Brunch in theater district with kids

I'm taking my nephews to to the theater on a Sunday; they're seven and five. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a place to grab brunch in the theater district area. I'm looking for somewhere that has a good menu for both kids and adults. Thanks!

School Trip to Rockefeller Center- Need Lunch ideas for HS students

I'm taking about 5 teenagers to Rockefeller Center this week (I know, I'm crazy) and need some ideas for a lunch spot. The lunch is a reward, so we want a sit down place- but not expensive- a pub type place is probably best- burgers, salads, etc. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Affordable Vegas Dining

great! thanks so much for the information- I'll start looking into what you suggested

New Year's Eve in LA

absolutely. We're actually staying with friends in West Hollywood; however, we were thinking of getting a hotel room for our last night there (the 31st) so we're fairly flexible as to location.

Affordable Vegas Dining

My husband and I will be traveling to Vegas over Xmas (both first-timers!)-- but don't want to spend a ton of money on dinners- My thought is perhaps spending around $50 per person (not including alcohol) for dinner. I know that many of the top notch restaurants aren't included in this category. If it helps, we live in NY so we've been to Mesa Grill, Olives, Aureole and a bunch of other places that have outposts here as well. We love every kind of food- and we're not picky at all. (we'll be there for two nights before we head to LA and do have a car- we're staying on the strip if that helps.) We're looking forward to some suggestions - thanks so much!

New Year's Eve in LA

My husband and I will be in LA over New Year's. We're from NY, and each year we go to Sushi Samba ---- while New Year's Eve out is typically overrated and overpriced we've always had a fantastic time. They do expect you to pay at least $125 per person- but it's well worth it- they have their regular menu, tons of freebies (champagne, drinks) and great entertainment- Brazilian dancers, and drumming. We're looking for something similar in LA- we eat pretty much everything- we don't want a crazy club atmosphere- but certainly somewhere we can go at around 9:30 and stay through midnight-- any ideas? Thanks so much!

new dietary restrictions-organic eating in Manhattan- suggestions?

My sister was just diagnosed with a Yeast allergy- and until her system is cleansed she can only eat organic vegetables and proteins- without much in the way of fancy sauces, etc. We still love to eat out- and I was wondering if anyone can recommend some restaurants in the city (really any area is fine but she lives in midtown east) that can accommodate her dietary restrictions. Thanks so much!

New Yorker needs good mexican food :)

Thanks for your reply- I probably should have left "hip" out of my question- I'd much rather have good food - cheaper is always best :)

New Yorker needs good mexican food :)

I've visiting some friends in LA over the holidays. My husband used to live in the area and now that we live in NY- he complains about the lack of good mexican food- (I agree) We're looking for a fun - hip place to get some great food- We have a car and price really isn't an issue. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Restaurant Recs in Cleveland

Thanks for the ideas- I'll let you know how they are- sounds great!

Restaurant Recs in Cleveland

Hi
My husband and I are taking a roadtrip to the Rock -n- Roll Hall of Fame, and we're looking for some restaurant recommendations in the Cleveland area. We definitely love to eat- mediterranean, seafood, new american, italian. Perhaps one or two upscale recs along with a few casual eateries would be great. We've heard nice things about The Flying Pig and Moxie. Thanks for your help!

Lower-Westchester HS Reunion Suggestions

My friend and I are looking to host a small high school reunion. We are more interested in a happy hour type setting- with a per-head cost of between $25-45 which would include drinks and appetizers of sorts. There could be anywhere from 50 to 175 people. Yonkers, any of the Rivertowns, White Plains-Any suggestions would be helpful- Thanks!

drinks near the tree, but not too touristy (is there such a place?)

We're meeting some friends in the city for some drinks. A few want to make the trek to see the tree first, and wanted to meet somewhere close by after. I want to suggest something that won't be overrun by tourists, that isn't too expensive, and has good drinks, and perhaps something to nosh on. We're in our 30s if that helps. Thanks and happy holidays!

Birthday Dinner

Hi

My husband and I are looking for a place to celebrate his birthday (which is in the beginning of January.) Last year we tried David Burke and Donatella-- great food, we loved it. We have a few places in mind:
Telepan
Eleven Madison Park
Craft
Bouley

Any suggestions are welcome. While we're not interested in spending "Per Se" prices, we do like to take it up a few notches on birthdays and special occasions. We're all about the food, though, and wouldn't mind recommendations that aren't quintessential New York eateries.

Thanks in advance-

Friends coming in from San Diego- where to eat?

Thanks!

Friends coming in from San Diego- where to eat?

Funny I just went there last week with my husband and loved it- they're actually have a tomato fest this week- it's great.

Two Nights in NYC - 8 Restaurants to Try!

The Modern is consistently one of my faves. I've been to Eleven Madison Park once and loved it as well. You have some fantastic choices on your list- good luck deciding! (If you're in the mood for something creative and wonderful, you might want to add david burke and donatella to your list...fabulous!)

Friends coming in from San Diego- where to eat?

I'm meeting some friends from San Diego for dinner next Friday night, and looking for a place to go in Manhattan. My husband works in the theater district, but that is often too touristy, so we don't mind branching out either up or downtown. Looking for something Italian/thai/french- they don't like seafood or sushi, and we have one person in the group who's never been to NY. Not looking for something too pricey- as long as the mid-range of prices are from the teens to low 20s. This may be too much or too little information, but I'd love some suggestions of places you enjoy. Thanks!

Lower Westchester Brunch Recommendations

I'm planning a brunch/lunch for my husband's 30th. I'm looking for a fun place close to a train station: Irvington, Tarrytown, Bronxville, HOH, White Plains, Yonkers, etc. for my friends who live in Manhattan. Any suggestions?

Brunch for 30 for a 30th birthday

Thanks so much for the suggestion, my husband loves Mexican food.

Brunch for 30 for a 30th birthday

I'm looking to make a surprise 30th birthday brunch for my husband. I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for great places that might even have a private room...unlimited mimosas are also great! Anywhere in Manhattan is fine. I know $40-$45 per person is the going rate from what i've seen. Thanks in advance for the help!
