Lunch near the Nashville zoo?

There's just 3 of us, inc a 5 year old. We love ethnic cuisine and a good burger. As far as price point goes, less than $30 for the meal.

Thanks for your help

Beer, Bourbon and BBQ in Nashville

I saw this on Groupon and wondered if anyone has ever been. My husband enjoys beer but neither of us really like bourbon. It's our understanding that the sample of booze are free but you have to pay for the bbq. We'd be coming in from KY so wanted to see if it was worth it. Also if we do go, please give us some recommendations on where to eat nearby.

Help my memory is failing me!! Diner train in southern KY

Thanks for the information, that does look like fun. I think my parents did something like that and really enjoyed it. The restaurant I am thinking of isn't an actually train ride, it was just located in or next to a train car.

Help my memory is failing me!! Diner train in southern KY

I remember eating at a restaurant that was housed in a train engine with some patio seating outside. This would have been about 2005-2006. I thought it was in Owensboro but I could be wrong. does anyone know what I am talking about??

Thanks

Family friendly dining in NOLA

i thought that was weird too! I need to check to see if they accept the Restaurants.com gift cards b/c we have several of those. I checked out SFT menu and it looked good so maybe it's worth a try. do you know if it's a local place or a chain?
thanks

Family friendly dining in NOLA

thank you. Do you know of any truly authentic Mexican restaurants in the area? We have a car so we can drive if necessary even though we are trying to stay downtown as much as possible.

Family friendly dining in NOLA

We are spending Memorial Day in NOLA. Have reservations at the Drury Inn near FQ. We'll traveling with our 3 year old daughter so we are looking for places that have good food but family friendly. Also, we saw an ice cream shoppe on Chef vs City but can't remember the name of it. Finally, has anyone ever at the bugs at the Insectarium?

Thanks for your help

Ethnic restaurants in Fort Worth

We are going to be in the Dallas/Ft Worth area for a long weekend next month. We'd love to find good ethnic restaurants, particularly Mexican or Indian. I know we are going to the Ft Worth zoo but nothing else is set yet.

Thanks

Authentic Mexican and/or good hole in the wall restaurants in San Antonio?

We were just in SA a few weeks ago & my in laws who are Mexican took us to Cielito Lindo & it was great. I was nervous when I first saw it b/c I thought it was another strip mall "authentic" Mexican restaurant but gave it the benefit of the doubt since Tia Betty knew the owners. Everything was great & very authentic according to the 4 Mexicans at our table.
We went to Mi Tierra the last time we were in SA & my husband refused to eat there b/c the food wasn't really authentic. We ended up eating at a Spanish (I believe) restaurant on the Riverwalk & it was really good.

Road Trip Sarasota, FL to Detroit, MI: Any can't miss spots along I-75?

there's a ton of chili parlors in the Cinti area. Skyline definitely has a bit of a chain feel to it. There's also Price Hill chili and Camp Washington Chili which have more of a local feel to them. Anyway you slice it they're all good!

When driving thru Cincinnati a local favorite is Montgomery Inn Boathouse- it's right downtown on the Ohio River. They are famous for their ribs & chicken but it's all good. Here's the link to their website.

As someone else said you can't go wrong with Cincinnati chili - in my opinion Skyline is best there are several off 75. If you are in the mood for ice cream try graeter's it was on Oprah's favorites list several years ago. I believe there is one in Northern Ky right off the interstate. Here are their links

Have a safe trip & happy eating.

Restaurants near Carmichael Rd in Montgomery?

We are spending a night off Carmichael Rd on our way home (Mobile) from Atlanta. Any suggestions of places near there to get some good local food?

Thanks!

Good eats near Buckhead

Yum - I love fresh soup so this is right up my alley. We'll have to find time to make it there.

Good eats near Buckhead

My husband, 8 month old daughter & I will be heading to the Buckhead area in a few weeks. Please advise what are the best local restaurants (ethic, microbrewery, burger joints, breakfast) where we can dine with the baby.

Thanks!

New to Mobile Alabama, Where's The Good Stuff?

Unfortunately that is the only Indian place in town and it's OK. There is an Indian grocery on Springhill (I believe) in West Mobile if you want to try making your own. Otherwise do what we do and go out for Indian anytime we are traveling.

IF you like Ethnic foods, there is a really good mom & pop Vietnamese restarurant on Azalea near Michael. When we moved here 2 years ago one of my husband's co-workers recommended it. We had never had Vietnamese food before & the staff was very helpful with ordering & proper eating technique.

Some of our other favorites are:
Original Gambino's in Fairhope - the pasta is good but I go for their flounder dishes
Bankgkok Thai Cuisine - I haven't been to the one on Airport but the one on Government has a weekday lunch buffett
Naman's Market on Old Shell
there's a sushi restaurant on Dauphin downtown & a second location in Daphne but I can't think of the name

Biloxi brunch

I live in Mobile but will be in Biloxi in a few weeks and am looking for the best place to have Sunday brunch.

Midwest 'hounds: food unique to or that defines your community/town/metro area/state

The best place for "Cincinnati style" chili is Skyline. It's a local chain but they are everywhere in the city.

I agree that if you go to Graeter's you HAVE to get something wih chips in it. My favorite is the coconut chip - it reminds me of a mounds bar.

The other restaurant you should try is Montgomery Inn. They are famous for their ribs. If you are visiting Cincinnati, I would recommend the Boathouse location since it sits right on the river.

I can't help you with Goetta. I had it once and didn't like it. I know that some of the local diners serve it. There is also a Goetta fest but I am not sure when it's held.

New to Mobile Alabama, Where's The Good Stuff?

Wow! I didn't realize how many people are moving to Mobile! My husband and I are in town on a house hunting trip. We'll be moving to Mobile next month. Of course, before we arrived I asked people from the area for a list of the best local places. I know a lot of these have been mentioned already but here's the list:
Ed's Shed
Original Oyster House - this was mentioned by almost everyone. We ate there on Sunday and I thougth the food was good but I was expecting more. I think my biggest disappointment was that most of the menu was fried seafood. I did read an earlier posting about the oysters on the half shell so I'll have to try those next time. I was suprised that I actually liked the cheese grits.
Mariner
Brick Pit
Dreamland - we ate there last night and it was really good.
Zea's - One of our favorites. I had the garlic & herb chicken and my husband had the trout. He wants to go back tonight (Thursday for the leg of lamb).
Wintzel's - Another of my new favorites. They also have $1 domestic beers and 25 cent oysters on the half shell during happy hour.
Big Time Diner
Picklefish - We had lunch yesterday at the one near USA. The service was a little slow but we both liked the white chicken veggie pizza.
Felix's Fish Camp
Justine at the Pillar
Dick Russell - supposedly has good breakfast. We might go there today.
Mellow Mushroom
Neighbors

We like Indian food and the only one I have seen is on Airport Blvd. Is it any good? If not, is there another one in town?
