Where can I buy Aguas Frescas for a party? So far I found it at Vallarta for $45 for the jar size and they sell half amounts as well.
Extra Points for locations close to Silver Lake / Eagle Rock. Bonus points if they have Watermelon.

Just had to update this thread. Not on the westside - but over at the Vons in Glendale, I picked up 3 of the 4 flavors of IT'S IT - Vanilla, Mint and Cappuccino, I'm still on the hunt for the Chocolate one.

+1 on Get Shaved - Good ice! I went on Sunday Night to the Carson location and it was busy w/ alot of Hawaiian transplants so that was a good sign. I got cherry, melona and tigers blood (lol) - perfect weather for it too. My fav is Waiola, so this is the closest I found here - similar blue/white machines.

I consider Langer's and Katz 1A & 1B, so I can see how one might slightly favor one than the other, but to say it isn't close pastrami wise, I don't agree with. The bread however at Langer's blows away the kind they use at Katz. And Carnegie Deli is a tourist trap, terrible pastrami.
I go to Langers about 1x a month for my pastrami fix, and whenever I'm in NY I always make a stop at Katz. So enjoy both! And the ordering ticket system at Katz does suck. lol

Next time, try Jake's Billiards in Pasadena. Upstairs diner has a build your own burger selection. Downstairs pool hall with happy hour finger food. I don't know if you can order the burger at your pool table. Its not a burger destination nor a great pool hall but for the combo you are looking for I would recommend it.

Thanks for the recs guys! And of course I would ask this when its out of season (doh!) but cravings and a sweet tooth wait for no one. I will definitely look into the sorbetto/juice suggestions right away. The French Toast and the Blood Orange Cake sound delicious, I will have to add that to my list. I'm sure I will have to revisit this thread again when it is in season.

Finally got to try Di Dio's Blood Orange Italian Ice last week and it triggered a Blood Orange Craving phase. What recommendations do you have for anything Blood Orange that tastes good? Desserts, drinks, entrees, whatever? I wish there was a Di Dio's closer to downtown.

Thanks for the replies, but sesame pancake sandwiches are a little different from the beef rolls you can find in SGV, but within the same family. The ones that I crave are from Vanessa's dumpling house in Chinatown NY.

for all you ventura county peeps: in camarillo, not far off the 101, is a liquor store called Crossroads liquor. I was in there last night buying my losing lottery tickets when I noticed in the ice cream case not only It's It vanilla sandwiches (yeah sorry no mint) but also the It's It cones and ice cream bars. Sooo good. I wonder what spices go into the oatmeal cookies. It's perfect whatever it is.

Its not a fad, not an institution, somewhere in between. You should try it, go to the Alibi Room location in Culver City - they serve it out of a bar M-S 6pm-midnight. There's only a couple of stops where the line isnt crazy long.
I agree with Uber's list and would still keep Roscoes from your list. I would do Philippes for a quick bite if you are in that area of downtown - get the lamb.

Grew up near Eagle Rock, so 20+ years of Tommys. I think I crave their chili cheese fries every week, it wasn't part of their original menu, but I am glad they added it. Now I'm hoping to convince them to add a fried egg to their chiliburger ala Jay's.
