thank you, I called them and they have the jar size at $30 and a bigger size for $50. Will definitely use them in the future, but I don't think they will be open tomorrow for 4th. also I called Cooks Tortas and they do a gallon size for about $20. |

Where can I buy Aguas Frescas for a party? So far I found it at Vallarta for $45 for the jar size and they sell half amounts as well. thanks! |

It's It Ice Cream Sandwiches - Westside Just had to update this thread. Not on the westside - but over at the Vons in Glendale, I picked up 3 of the 4 flavors of IT'S IT - Vanilla, Mint and Cappuccino, I'm still on the hunt for the Chocolate one. 311 West Los Feliz Boulevard, Glendale, CA |

+1 on Get Shaved - Good ice! I went on Sunday Night to the Carson location and it was busy w/ alot of Hawaiian transplants so that was a good sign. I got cherry, melona and tigers blood (lol) - perfect weather for it too. My fav is Waiola, so this is the closest I found here - similar blue/white machines. |

Langer's vs. Oinkster (vs. Katz's) I consider Langer's and Katz 1A & 1B, so I can see how one might slightly favor one than the other, but to say it isn't close pastrami wise, I don't agree with. The bread however at Langer's blows away the kind they use at Katz. And Carnegie Deli is a tourist trap, terrible pastrami. |

Next time, try Jake's Billiards in Pasadena. Upstairs diner has a build your own burger selection. Downstairs pool hall with happy hour finger food. I don't know if you can order the burger at your pool table. Its not a burger destination nor a great pool hall but for the combo you are looking for I would recommend it. |

Awesome, I grew up in Eagle Rock and still pass through alot, so I will keep this on my radar. Maybe I won't have to go to the Hollywood Wingstop for some wings. |

Blood Orange... Anything! What's Good? Thanks for the recs guys! And of course I would ask this when its out of season (doh!) but cravings and a sweet tooth wait for no one. I will definitely look into the sorbetto/juice suggestions right away. The French Toast and the Blood Orange Cake sound delicious, I will have to add that to my list. I'm sure I will have to revisit this thread again when it is in season. |

Blood Orange... Anything! What's Good? Finally got to try Di Dio's Blood Orange Italian Ice last week and it triggered a Blood Orange Craving phase. What recommendations do you have for anything Blood Orange that tastes good? Desserts, drinks, entrees, whatever? I wish there was a Di Dio's closer to downtown. |

You would have a hard time finding _________in Los Angeles... that looks good! |

You would have a hard time finding _________in Los Angeles... Thanks for the replies, but sesame pancake sandwiches are a little different from the beef rolls you can find in SGV, but within the same family. The ones that I crave are from Vanessa's dumpling house in Chinatown NY. They seem to spreading to other dumpling houses over there, so hopefully it makes the leap and comes this way. |

Tommy's Frozen Chili in Ralph's or Food for Less? lol, i had the same first reaction as you monku, but yes it is the original Tommy's son. I figured this was what the OP was talking about since I couldn't find anything about Original Tommys selling in stores. Here's some more info I found: http://fastfood.freedomblogging.com/2... If anyone tries it let me know how it tastes! Otherwise I'll just get chili to go at Tommy's |

Looks like a Kogi truck, but it's not... its probably the Calbi Bbq truck. I can understand other businesses giving us their version of korean tacos, but this place looks like a carbon copy of Kogi. Look, logo and everything. |

thats too bad, i do hope they get a downtown location soon. thanks for the info. |
|
|
anyone have an update whether this location is one you can order from? |
|

Must-eats in LA - visiting from NY Its not a fad, not an institution, somewhere in between. You should try it, go to the Alibi Room location in Culver City - they serve it out of a bar M-S 6pm-midnight. There's only a couple of stops where the line isnt crazy long. |

I like the Hawaiian bread french toast at Rutts Hawaiian. will have to try the Coffee Co. version, thanks. |

Sesame Pancakes, where to find them? I should have probably written Sesame Pancake sandwiches, but here is my point of reference. http://tinyurl.com/535ctr |

Great write-up as always exilekiss. Just curious as to what other restaurants you have reviewed have garnered a 9 rating or above? Keep up the good work! |

Cafe Bravo is open in Silverlake! actually i had to order the garlic sauce on the side. 50 cents extra. And I do order the extra skewer, even though I never finish it!! |

Grew up near Eagle Rock, so 20+ years of Tommys. I think I crave their chili cheese fries every week, it wasn't part of their original menu, but I am glad they added it. Now I'm hoping to convince them to add a fried egg to their chiliburger ala Jay's. |
