Please help this Seattle Hound refine her eating itinerary!

Galatoire's soft shell meniere almondine is a dream. My mouth is watering right now!

I would add Mandina's on Canal in Mid-City to your list...not too far from Quarter. Cash only. You can ride the streetcar there. Check their website for info/menu, but their trout meniere almondine is a dream too.
Bar food...Port of Call.... gotta do the burger. Snug Harbor makes a good burger too. Have fun!!

Thanks and more

I'm loving the recs on all these out of the Quarter places. I am heading back with a friend in mid June and will do my best to get her out of the "traditional" Quarter to some of these places. Side question: Parking in the Quarter....other than parking in front of my friends Lakeview rebuild, any suggestions on "reasonable" parking rates in the Quarter? The Sonesta wants 30.00 per. Again, thanks for all the info....going to the Columns for a drink, Mandina's or Parkway for po-boys and Frenchmen St. for FuN! I've been to Snug Harbor and enjoyed myself too much that I lost a morning! Marigny or Elizabeth's sounds great for breakfast/brunch. You guys are great! I know this is a foodie site...but the info on parking could be rallied into another decent feast. Thanks!

Most overrated NOLA restaurants

I must jump to Arnaud's defense. As a former resident, I spent many happy lunchtimes and many LONG dinners there with my family. This place lives in my heart. Never had a less than wonderful experience, and I've had just about everything on the menu over the last 40 years. I know Arnaud's is not the "in" place anymore, based on it's absence from most sites and mags I've read over the years. It is sad. But "deserving of derision?" Please.

Ten best things to eat in New Orleans

"F & G" (or is it FNG) coffee drink at The Monteleone
Bloody Mary at Arnaud's
Any "go cup" from Court Liquor that I can enjoy while I walk down Royal and smell your city's sweet olive blossoms.
