Food and restaurant jokes.

A biker rides up to lonely pub in the middle of nowhere. He walks in, sits down, and sees a sign behind the bar that reads:

Cold Beer $3.00
Hamburger $3.00
Cheeseburger $3.50
Handjobs $50.00

He calls over the fantastically beautiful barmaid and asks, "Say, are you the one who gives the handjobs?" She smiles slyly and replies, "Why, yes, I am." The biker says, "Well go wash your hands then, because I want a Cheeseburger."

Napa/Sonoma-area restaurant picks?

Vintage Inn people own Villagio in Yountville, Napa Valley Lodge is owned by another group altogether (Lodge at Bodega Bay and one in Half Moon Bay). Domaine Carneros is SOUTH of Napa, not north, unless you are thinking of Domaine Chandon which is in Yountville. Sunshine Foods in St. Helena is a way better choice for picinic supplies.

Dress code at Waterbar

Was at Waterbar for drinks and oysters on 5/17 and saw a range of apparel. Many men in the dining room wore jackets but there were lots of tourists in jean on patio and in the bar. While I think there are few restos in SF Bay Area that would deny seating based on jacket/no jacket I would pack a blazer. Perfectly acceptable attire for SF.

What do people recommend at Bud's Meats?

While normally not a fan of marinated steaks (ususally just a way to disguise old meat) the Santa Maria Tri-tip at Bud's is memorable. I have also never been dissppointed with their pre-cut Rib-Eyes. Excellent marbling and flavor.

Good butcher in Northern Sonoma County?

Bud's Custom Meats just north of Pengrove on Petaluma Hill Rd., near Sonoma State. The cows grazing outside the shop are waiting for their turn to be the ones inside the shop. Try their jerky, too.

Calistoga, Napa, SF - Itinerary Critique Please!

Del Dotto is known locally as "Del Blotto". Make them your last stop of the day, and have a designated driver ready...

Anyone have a favorite taco truck in Napa which will cater parties?

A couple of years ago we had the truck that parks next to Sleep City/Kragen Auto Parts on Jefferson come for our going away party when we were moving out of town. I can't recall the name, but they are there every day.

We just had them show up at a cetain time, stay till a certain time, allowed our guests to eat whatever they wanted, no charge. We guaranteed them $200, and would pay anything that went over. I think our final bill was around $300 with a tip included. We still have people say it was the best party ever.

Yountville wine shop

The original Groezinger's was indeed behind Vintage 1870. The name and business were purchased years ago and moved to where Bouchon Bakery is now. Rick, rhe somewhat quirky owner, moved it to its present location about 6 yeahrs ago. He does a great newsletter business and his January "Cherry Pickers Delight" salel consists of bottles of highly allocated labels he holds in reserve all year and then releases in January. He holds wine purchased during the summer if you don't want to take a chance on hot shipping trucks spoiling your purchase. Both his and the shop behind 1870 have excellent selections, although I haven't been in the 1870 shop in a couple of years and it also recently (2 years ago I think) changed hands.

Yountville wine shop

It's spelled Groezinger's. They are next to the Wells Fargo across the street from Redd.
