Taking a vegan friend to dinner downtown
Hello Everyone,
My friend and I will be in downtown LA for a conference, and would like to go out to dinner. I'll eat almost anything and he is a vegan. We won't have much time, so we can't really stray from downtown. Shojin sounds interesting, but I'd prefer a place that sells alcohol. What other places are vegan-friendly?

Raw Vegan Options in San Marcos, CA?
Hello Everyone,
I have a friend coming into town who is a raw vegan. We'll be doing a lot of our cooking at home. However, there is one evening when, due to logistics, we'll have to get dinner in San Marcos, CA. I often take my vegan friends to Nattiya Thai Restaurant (727 W San Marcos Blvd # 115, San Marcos), which is really quite good.
I'm a bit stumped about where I could take her. I can't really remember if Nattiya has any raw vegan options on the menu. I'm assuming they have some kind of salad, but I don't really know.
So, my question is, can anyone recommend good raw vegan food options in San Marcos? They don't have to be raw food restaurants (the only one in the area that I know of is Cilantro in Carlsbad, which won't work for that night), just places where she could get a decent meal.
