Navajo Taco in Phoenix

Fry Bread House is the best I've come across. You won't be dissapointed with anything you get at all from there.

Bean and Cheese Burrito [PHX]

Carolina's is amazing and so is El Patron off 27th Ave & 101. That is all I ever order when I go to Mexican restaurants and the beans and tortillas are a must on taste, how they are cooked, thickness (or thiness) and the beans! Must be old school homemade beans with lard! I stopped at the Carolina's off Cactus last week to get a QT of beans and dozen tortillas to snack on for the next week or so! Can't go wrong there!

N. Scottsdale inexpensive dining recommendations

Ray's Pizza is GREAT. La Fonda is great for dinner and lunch (cheep for both), decor is nothing to write home but great Mexican food. Oregano's has some good pizza and resonable for lunch (I get a slice of pizza).

Ray's Pizza (FLW/101)
La Fonda & Oreganos (SE Corner of Shea & Scottsdale Rd)
California Pizza Kitchen (might please the kids more) Just South of Shea on Scottsdale Road.
Los Olivos Norte (FLW/101) Great Mexican food and really resonable prices (the original is in Old Town Scottsdale)
Jason's Deli (NE Corner of Scottsdale & Shea)
Sapporos is always good for lunch and happy hour.

My fiance has a 13 year old son so when we have him we have to take him to places that he will find something to eat as well!!!

Good Luck!

Havana Blue in St Thomas

My fiance and I actually stayed at the Morningstar Resort and ate there one night. I can honestly say the mean was wonderful but not quite sure it would fit a childs palatte. I also didn't notice anything that they could make for kids. Here is a link to the restaurant and menu. http://www.havanabluerestaurant.com/t...

Pizza Bianco. Worth it?

Mosics is wonderful. I did like it here better than Sassi.

I personally love PB but hate the wait. You might want to try Grazie's Pizza and Wine bar in Old Town Scottsdale. The longest I've ever had to wait was 20 minutes (if that) and they are tiny like PB. Service is great and food is wonderful. The owner serves the wine and walks around to make sure you are doing okay. The pizza is wonderful and very similar to PB. Very fresh and tasty. The salads are great to! For my fiance and I we always share a salad since they are so big, and we each get a pizza (I hate so share it because it's so good), plus I like leftovers which are only a few pieces. I have yet to try the dessert but I'm hoping to save room for it on our next visit. This is one of our favorite places to go (even went there on Valentine's Day - couldn't see spending $200 for a fixed menu and being rushed out of a place). http://grazie.us/

Another great restaurant is Tarbell's on 32nd Street & Camelback. He changes the menu each season and just does a great job with it.

Malee's On Main in Old Town Scottsdale is also very good Thai food. The Coco Chili Fish is to die for! www.maleesthaibistro.com/

Coup des Tarts in Phoenix is another wonderful idea. It is a BYOB but boy is it great. Situated in a tiny house the entire dinning experiance is never a dissapointment. It is certainly worth the drive from your resort. http://www.nicetartes.com/

House of Tricks located in Tempe is another with a great menu and great charm. Also loacated in a restored house it's hidden from the road in which it sits. I've eaten there a few times and the menu is very different (quail, etc) but was very good. http://www.houseoftricks.com/

Cartwrights located in Cave Creek is also very good. They have a Southwestern menu and a great looking restaurant. http://www.azeats.com/cartwrights/ind...

Hope this helps when coming to the Valley of the Sun!

Enjoy!

Restaurants in St. Thomas & St. John

My fiance and I just got back from St. Thomas & St. John. I had looked on here for some recomendations and was really pleased with what I read so I also wanted to share for anyone visiting there anytime soon.

St. Thomas – We stayed at the Marriott Morning Star and what a WONDERFUL property. They had several restaurants onsite so we did try some of them. The night we arrived they were having a Caribbean cookout with roasted pig and all. What a great dinner! It was a great way to start our trip.

We decided to go offsite the next night and we went to Mim’s. It’s on the way to Red Hook. When we got out of the Taxi boy where we treated with just the best smell! They are known for their stuffed lobsters. We both had the Conch Fritters (they were a little disappointing) then we both split the Lobster Bisque. It was very good. Had a lot of fresh seafood chunks in it. Then for our entrée we both had the Stuffed Lobster with Coconut & Curry Sauce. BOY WAS THIS AMAZING. I don’t care for curry but this was sooooo sweet due to the coconut. It was HUGE too! This was my fiancé’s favorite meal.

The next day we went to St. John. We drove the island and hung out on the beaches (WONDERFUL DAY). We stopped at Skinny Legs to enjoy a cocktail or two and split a burger. We had the Blue Cheese Burger and it was a great way to hold us over until dinner. I had read about an Italian restaurant La Divo’s in Cruz Bay that was suppose to be very good. Well it was! We were pleasantly surprised. There were only two other couples there the night we were there but we talked with the owner and his wife and child. The food was so fresh and wonderful. My fiancé had the noodles in red/meat sauce and I had the Lobster Ravioli. We also had a Caprice Salad to start and to finish we had the Tiramisu and the Canoli. I’ve never had anything so fresh in my life even when I went to Italy! The restaurant has only been opened a year and we both hope they make it because on our return trip we will certainly be going back!

We went into St. Thomas for shopping the next day and at lunch at Mason Amelia and it was great. A little on the expensive side but still very good. We also ate at The Greenhouse just for some apps one night since we weren’t hungry. On Wednesday they have 2-for-1 drinks so we had a few and tried the potato skins. We weren’t disappointed at all. We just didn’t go back for another meal with many other choices.

We also ate dinner one night at Herve in St. Thomas. We had the wilted spinach salad to split for starters and I had the Lamb Chops and they were perfect! My Fiancé had the Filet and then we had their little chocolate cream cup (I can’t remember the name of them) for dessert. This was one of my favorite meals.

We also ate two nights at the hotel in addition to the first night. One night we ate at Windows on the Harbor. We where both very disappointed in this. No ambiance whatsoever. The food was okay. Nothing to really right home about that’s for sure.

We also ate at Blue Havana which was on the Morning Star side of the resort. Oh my was that a great meal. We started with the trout civiche which was very tasty. Then we both had the Sea Bass with wasabi mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. It was very good. The sauce really made the dish. We also had cocktails there several nights and it’s just a really pretty restaurant and a great drink menu.

I really hope this helps me the way it helped me before I went!!!! ENJOY!
