"Real" sushi in vancouver- gimme!
Ok, so what are the lunch options then? Tojo and Toshi are not open during lunch.
Is there no place for me to get Omakase on a Friday afternoon?
ISO American Country Ham
No way they'd let a Newsoms ham into Canada.
I send them to family in the USA all the time.
Toronto butchers vs butchers
Go see my friend Vinny Gasparo at Gasparo's on Bloor (near Ossington). This is my favorite meat shop in the city.
Where to buy Le Creuset in Toronto - Not Peppermill @ Hazelton Lanes
I didn't notice the pans at the Nella store - give them a call.
I bought my Paderno pots & pans via their online store - sign up for the newsletter, they have big sales (70% off) twice per year. I got my huge set (14+ pieces) for $350 (vs. the $1300 list).
Where to buy Le Creuset in Toronto - Not Peppermill @ Hazelton Lanes
I get my Le Cruset at the Nella store on Bathurst (just North of Bloor).
Pricing is fantastic and the selection is great as well.
CopaCabana in Niagara Falls??
I went to the Toronto location and was a little underwhelmed by the experience. Yes, they had lots of meat, but the service was slow (waiting for the specific type of meat you wanted to arrive by your table) and the staff was generally disinterested.
Hopefully the NF one is better.
Awesome Non Toxic (Ceramic) Fry Pans !
I have a Paderno Nature Pan that is fantastic.

Great Mexican in Toronto?
Heading to Dos Amigos for Cinco de Mayo celebrations! Hope they have something special.
Maroli - just have to post!
AGREED! Maroli is an amazing restaurant with authentic, tasty and approachable food.
The management put a great deal of care into what they cook and always treat customers well.
Highly recommended.
At home sushi catering
Just following up on this. What did you end up doing? How did it work out? I'm thinking of doing the same thing for a milestone birthday.

Best Hong Kong-style breakfast in and around Toronto?
Can you give more details as to what a HK-style breakfast is? I'm interested to try.
Great Mexican in Toronto?
I've been to all of the above and they are all great and very authentic.
Jacal & Mexitaco are a little more casual than the others.
El Rincon & El Palenque tend to be busier later in the evenings and have live music a few nights a week.
Dos Amigos is a family operation and always has cheerful atmosphere.

Live lobster

George gets them fresh 2 times per week from Nova Scotia. He supplies most of the better restaurants and grocery stores in the city.
Get them from him.
Timmins and area?
LOL! I was -just- talking about this thread with someone and they recommended the Fishbowl as well.
Great fish options on the menu (something like 8 types of fish, cooked 5 or 6 different ways).
Timmins and area?
London Cafe for good Chinese food.
Chez-Nous for late night delivery poutine.
Goat Meat?
I'm looking to make curry goat.
Does anybody know where one can find -good- (safe) goat meat in the city?
I'd prefer bonless pieces.
Thanks in advance.
best italian pork sausages in toronto?
Bruno's Fine Foods makes their own sausages in each store and they are usually very goods (Bruno's has various locations).
? re: Chinese style deep fried squid and deep fried calamari
New Ho King on Spadina has great spicy salted quid (deep fried with salt and chillies on top).
Boneless Beef Finger Meat?
I bought these thinking I would try to crock-pot them - but it turned into a really greasy mess.
I've tried to find recipes for them, but haven't found much worth trying.
Grinding them is a great idea - they would make great burgers. Slow roasting them with a drip pan underneath (so they don't roast in the grease) would be a good option as well.
Steak Restaurant on Richmond
I stopped by for lunch during sumerlicious.
The meal was reasonable. Food was cooked to order, service was friendly and for the price ($20) it was a very good value.
I'd give it a try again for lunch.
Highlights of Chinatown?
E-Pan has great crispy beef (and other dishes as well). The decor is probably the nicest of any place I've seen on the strip (and the bathrooms are spotless).
