Al di La let me down big time!

let's imagine for a second this is the way the chef, who is co-owner with her husband, intends to make this dish. accepting this premise we should acknowledge it is probably a matter of a customer not liking something she ordered.

da noi staten island any reviews

my description is accurate if you compare denoi to restaurants which are much better. either you've never been, which makes you unqualified to challenge my point, or you have been (to much better places) and know i'm right. either way, it is in the taste buds of the beholder and the last thing i want to do is begrudge you a good time. i'm not hung up on the "red sauce" idea as you might think. there are red sauce places which burry da noi. their northern and southern dishes really aren't either northern or southern. try some actually authentic italian restaurants, manhatten is right next door.

Trattoria Romana - amazing Italian in Staten Island

trattoria is recommended, but they cut corners and are not special in any way. they just don't stink.

Staten Island Pizza

nucci's on forest and denino's are my favorites. joe and pat's are ok but i don't think they make it with love.

da noi staten island any reviews

da noi is like pizzeria food; seriously, i'm not saying that to be mean. all of these italian american joints on staten island, even if they're tasty comfort food, really don't deserve the hard earned money they delicately slip out of your pocket like a "beautiful piece of veal this evening." For real italian food try the venician Al Di La in Park Slope. They can take your money while looking you in the eye- it's you that wants to look away.

Peter Luger or Old Homestead?

i could tell you more negative things about luger. holmestead is amazing. better sides, no wait for res., and the steak is as good.

Chinese in Staten Island (don't say Jade Island), and other yummy ethnic...

East Pan Asian in the mall is very good. It is in another league from other mediocre too gross take out or american style eat in places. Zest is amazing. Taste of India is wonderful-try the chicken vindaloo if you like spicy. For take out "gyros" there is a great turkish store front by the OTB on forest. Empire East on Hylan is same owner as East Pan Asian, very good noodle soups. Golden's deli on richmond is great jewish deli, little pricey but really solid fare. Pizza-my favorites are Deninos and Nucci's. Joe and Pat's is a distant third. Tratoria is Ok, but typical cutting lots of corners in it for the profit italian american. Best Italian I know of is Al Di La in park slope. Totally absolutely worth the trip.
