The Girls from North Carolina are back from the big trip to NY. Thanks for all the suggestion, it was so nice to have the suggestions. We had the best cornbeef sandwich at KATZ, wonderful Italian, at Trattoria Tricolor, John Pizza, and Carmines and a place in Tribeca that I cannot remember the name. Wonderful cheesecake from Juniors, just placed an order for one to be delivered to NC. The brunch at The Plaza Hotel was a experience with a big price tag, but worth the experience. Ate at a Deli named All About Food, across from FAO Swartz it as delish, had not seen suggestions for that but it was really good, salads, sandwiches, just about everything. Started our week with the Times Square Bomb Scare and ended the week with the Staten Island Ferry Crash. I have to say, the security made us feel so safe, and the people were so helpful and friendly. City was clean, it was a wonderful time, and I thank all the chowhounds that helped!!! Forget to mention the Magnolia Bakery, OMG, I forgot how many cupcakes we ate they were wonderful, wish I had one right now!! Humingbird cake was my favorite.Amost forgot to mention Keens was wonderful, and the service amazing. ----- |

First Trip to NYC, Need suggestions for Best Italian, Best Steak, American Foodie For Italian, that sounds very reasonable, thanks. Steaks we like prime rib, filet, and ribeyes. Have not looked at Craft, I will do that. Coming on a Saturday and wanted a good brunch on Sunday, but boards don't have alot of good things to say about the brunches. We have to do pizza, bagels, and a memorable meal, one that we will always say was the best place we ate in NY. We will doing theatre, sightseeing, so a prix fixe dinner suggestion would be greatly appreciated. |

After Labor Day Camden Maine Local Suggestions There are seven us of coming to visit Maine in the second week of September 2008. I have been enjoying reading all the chowhound comments. What a great website. My question is will some of these wonderful places to dine, drink, and relax be closed after Labor Day. I am trying to make a list of places we must not miss and need to know when the season closes. I am hoping to eat lots of lobsters. I am from the coastal region of North Carolina and we know where all the locals eat seafood so some of you locals I would love to hear from you all. |
