Breakfast btwn Stamford and the city?

Hello Chowhounders,
I would love some suggestions for a breakfast place between Stamford, CT and NYC. I will be taking the drive early in the morning with my uncle (a self proclaimed foodie) and would love to stop somewhere that serves great, homemade, interesting food at a great price. Surprisingly enough, we both love the dive atmosphere with surprising food finds. Neither of us have a specific breakfast schedule, so anywhere in between is fine, be it close to Stamford or just outside nyc proper. Thanks to all for the help, it is much appreciated!

Breakfast btwn Stamford and the city?

Hello Chowhounders,
I'm looking for some advice on a good breakfast place. I will be driving to new york city from connecticut early in the morning this weekend and would love some suggestions for breakfast. I'm traveling along with my dear uncle (unabashed food snob) and would love to treat him to a great morning meal. However, he normally likes to go for the out of the ordinary, really great homemade food that is served at a great price (so that he can brag about all his "great finds".) I would love to be able to show him something fun, but have never been through that area before and don't know where to start. Any and all suggestions are very much appreciated!
Thanks for the help!

Ultimate Food Destinations in Da Big Apple

Love your ideas but have a few extra to add. First, Zabars is a must, a Manhattan food institution. However, if you can't make it over to the Deli on the west, they have a restaurant in 80s east called Eli's. If you're up for something a little more fancy, Marcus Samuelsson's flagship restaurant, Aquavit on 55th by Moma is out of this world. I've been going there for over 10 yrs and everthing is fantastic. If you're ever down in soho, find Alidoro's at 105 Sullivan btwn Prince and Spring. BEST sandwich you will ever have, piles of proscuitto and fresh sliced mozz. Go early cause they close when they run out of bread. If you do make it up to Zabars and are hungry for a perfect NYC dive lunch, hit The Great Burrito on Amsterdam btwn 79 and 80. Best chicken quesadilla you will ever have. It is the first place I go when I fly in. Sorry this is long, but I hope it helps.

Denver Dives

I will be staying in Denver for a couple days on my way through Colorado. I have never been and am very interesting in suggestions for places to eat. I love small, one of a kind, dive-y restaurants, and homemade food is always great. Anything cheap and interesting is good too. Any and all recommendations are appreciated, thanks!

I'm going to be traveling through Denver CO on my way out of Salt Lake City and was wondering if anyone knew of any real small, diner type restaurants with interesting food that might be a good pit stop on my way through the city. There are centainly tons of great places to go- I just need some help finding some! Thanks!

Looking for Dives in Salt Lake City

Hey everyone,
I'm taking a vacation soon to Salt Lake City and would love some suggestions on where to eat. I'm definately not going to Olive Garden or Burger King so if you could direct me towards more of a non-chain, one of a kind, home-made kind of place that would be great. I'm feeling Diners, Drive-ins and Dives style; any recommendations?
