How do I delete my account?

EDIT: Never mind -- I figured it out. It's under MY CHOW, and SETTINGS.

Food Truck Sound-Off

Yep, south side of the street, closer to the intersection with Stewart. A bunch of picnic tables underneath an overhang. There are also some machines. I think it's something that belongs to SMC, but there's always plenty of room.

Food Truck Sound-Off

Also, there's a little picnic area on Pennsylvania toward the east end.

Total Carnage! Gourmet Burger Battle – 26 Beach vs. Umami vs. Father’s Office vs. Golden State vs. Morton’s vs. Anisette vs. Lucky Devils vs. 25 Degrees vs. 8 oz vs. Rustic Canyon! [Review] w/ Pics!

I think the goat cheese is overpowering on the Billy. My favorite is still the 26er, which I actually prefer to the SoCal burger at Umami, my other favorite burger place.

MOST OUTSTANDING BURRITOS IN LOS ANGELES AREA

Chipotle is a cruel parody of a Mission burrito. No wonder you're confused.

Fava beans

Yeah, I'm seeing favas everywhere at the Farmer's Market. My favorite prepared version is at Sham, which sautees them with garlic and cilantro. Interestingly, they get their favas from somewhere in the Valley, not the Santa Monica Farmer's Market.

I respect your burrito recs, Burger Boy, just not Gold's. Apologies if that wasn't clear.

Papalote Mexican Grill, SF - go or avoid?

Go. Order a super chicken with whole black beans. It's really the best burrito in the Mission right now, imo, and I'm pretty obsessive about burritos. I can't vouch for anything else on the menu, but that super chicken burrito is the bomb.

Need interesting place to take someone from SF

These are excellent suggestions. SF definitely lags behind WLA when it comes to Oaxacan food. And Thai food in SF seems to lag behind LA generally.

Berkeley Dog opening in O.C.

Oops, I meant differently from Top Dog. Brats and onions is obviously a classic pairing.

MOST OUTSTANDING BURRITOS IN LOS ANGELES AREA

Jonathan Gold is probably the least credible source when it comes to burritos. I've been really disappointed by his blatant propagandizing on the subject. I would take anything he says with a huge grain of salt.

Berkeley Dog opening in O.C.

Actually, I disagree with that rec. If Top Dog is any indication, the best stuff at Berkeley Dog should be sausages besides the frankfurters. Does anyone know if they have a Calabrese?

Brat plus onions? As in grilled? Looks like Berkeley Dog does things a little differently.

Thanks for sharing. Any recommendations for burritos in LA?

Papalote Mexican Grill, SF - go or avoid?

I've noticed the stale chips at Papalote, but I actually love putting the orange salsa on the burritos, too. I actually think they marinate the chicken in that salsa. BTW, have you tried the burrito with whole beans? I prefer it that way.

Alcazar Express in Westwood

I'm just finishing some leftover Hummus Alcazar for breakfast... delicious!

Park's Korean: Rec's and Prices

Good advice. I'd only add that I prefer the "marinated" versions of the meats to the non-marinated.

Challenge: impressing a non-seafoodie Chicagoan with SF fare (on a budget)

Check out Gregoire in Berkeley for lunch. It's a little counter on the North Side. I crave the lamb sandwich and potato puffs.

The best San Francisco sourdough?

Oh, wow, that dark sourdough brings back some memories! Count me in the Acme camp, too.

Fresser's hot pastrami truck is going away

I don't think it was artisanal pride that led to delays. There were many times that I would get my sandwich in less than 5 minutes. I think, as has been reported, the owner had trouble finding competent workers.

Craft or special dinner for son

Craft is one of my top places for a high-end meal in NYC. The food is simple and delicious, and Gutsofsteel nailed it with the description of the room as "comfortable in a casually elegant sort of way."

Fresser's hot pastrami truck is going away

D'oh.

Trucks That Suck

I've actually observed some really wide variation in greasiness. Much of the time, they're really greasy, but sometimes they're really dry. It's weird...

Top 7 hot dog locations per ABC

That's...not saying much, lol.

Antica Pizzeria in the Marina is LA's best and most authentic Neapolitan pizza experience

lapizzamaven, that has been my experience too. I've had some very tasty "dry" pies from Antica by specifying well done. Also, if you order pies with smoked mozzarella, they're usually less soggy.

Broccoli rabe-- where?

Didn't see any at the Farmer's Market today, but I got there late and pickings were unusually lean across the board.

Tito's Tacos

Hey now, I didn't grow up with duck sauce, but I occasionally crave it on my fried rice lol!

Eleven Madison - eating at bar?

Agreed -- it was not the full menu last time I dined at the EMP Bar. It annoys me when restaurants do that.

Cheap-eats food itinerary for 4 days in Manhattan?

I'm with addictedtolunch on this -- skip the knishes.

Broccoli rabe-- where?

I've seen it at Santa Monica Farme's Market -- I'll check and let you know. BTW, for an excellent prepared version, I highly recommend the South Philly Experience truck. It comes on their Italian sandwiches, but you can also order a sandwich of just broccoli rabe or a side of the stuff. It's garlicky, oily, and delicious.
