Good Food near Crofton, MD

Check out Punk's Backyard Grill in Annapolis. It's attached to the mall, but the food is really good and it has a nice casual atmosphere.

best pizza in DC?

My favorites are 2 Amys and Albertos. Very different types of pies, but both delicious.

NYE Dinner DC

I have found that the Jose Andres restaurants usually do a good job of balancing atmosphere and food on NYE. Cafe Atlantico has a DJ and dancing, as well as a nice extensive menu. I think the other restaurants in that portfolio are doing a similar thing. You can eat till midnight then dance/dj for a few hours afterwards.

New gelato place in Clarendon -- how is it?

I thought the gelato was quite good. From what I understand the place is owned by 2 people who have worked in numerous restaurants in DC as servers and bartenders (maybe Oceanaire and/or Occidental?). The decor and the feel of the place need some work, but they're certainly on the right track. I also agree that the owner is nice, but boisterous.

DC Help this weekend

How about Hank's Oyster Bar? It's a bit tight in there, but if you go early or late you may be able to get a table. Nothing too out of the ordinary, but the oysters are the best around. It's at 17th St. and R St (?) i think.

The best authentic mexican

I really enjoy Mexican Pepito's Bakery on Columbia Rd., between 17th and 18th st. I find that it has some of the most authentic Mexican "street" food in the DC area. I do enjoy Oyamel as well, but when I'm not in the mood for the trendy, more expensive meal there, I always go to Pepito's for my Mexican fix. Their carnitas are delicious, as are the cochinita tacos.
