Cafe d'Alsace - UES 'Sleeper'?

I like Cafe D'Alsace. Solid food at decent prices. Its my go-to place in the neighborhood. Brunch is good also.

Tasting Menu at Town?

Has anyone done the tasting menu at Town lately? How was it? My boyfriend and I are considering going there for my birthday next week. If not good, where else similar can we go? Thanks.

Dinner in Newport

I want to buy my parents (in their 50's) a gift certificate to a nice restaurant in Newport. They don't like anything too ethnic and tend to stick to Italian/American. Please help.

most romantic place (below 34th street) with entrees under $25

Definitely The Place on W4th.

DeMarco's re-revisited

I've always had good pizza at DeMarco's. I simply go to the counter and wait for the next fresh pie (its usually only a few minutes).

Prune's Brunch

The sausages and oysters are definitely different and very delicous. The bloodymarys are also fantastic.

Cookies that look and taste like homemade.

I recently had the best chocolate chip cookie of my life at Levain's (74th between Columbus & Amsterdam). I'm not sure if they would be considered homemade since they are very large; however they are so incredibly delicious, I would bring them anyway.

Eleven Madison Park or Union Square Cafe?

Although I've never been to USC, I would definitely pick Eleven Madison Park.

Shake Shack Revisited

I love Shake Shack and always will. To show my support I went the day of the "DOH scandal." As usual, the burger was delicious and the park was gorgeous.

Pizza SNAFU ... the horror.

I LOVE grilled cheese dipped in ketchup and when I'm really drunk, pizza dipped in blue cheese.

I will eat just about anything except...

I had a similar experience with meatloaf. I, however, was not excused and sat there for hours.

Do you have a favorite brand of pretzels?

If you live in New York, definitely try the Pretzel Man at the Union Square Farmers Market. I know they have a website but I can't remember it at the moment. They are very fresh and are available salted or unsalted. My boyfriend loves them so much that he buys them by the case.

Is the $6.50 chocolate chip cookie at max brenner worth it?

I've never been there but you should try the chocolate chip cookies from Bouchon Bakery. They are the best I've had in years.

Quiet, No-Fuss Dinner Tonight?

Tonight I'm looking for a somewhat quiet, non-snobby, casual restuarant. I want somewhere that has delicious food and an equally delicious red wine selection. I'm looking for American, Italian or French...nothing too crazy. I prefer that the restaurant be located between Midtown and Houston St and be moderately to expensively priced. Thanks everyone.

I'VE BEEN A GOOD GIRL! Where should I cash in my reward?

I wouldn't eat at Spice Market. If you really want to go there, stop in for drinks.

I would pick Bouley or Cru for dinner.

What childhood foods have you outgrown?

I basically no longer eat anything packaged which is a far cry from my childhood.
