Most disgusting taste (of normal foodstuffs)

I am repulsed by American Cheese. It disgusts me. Strangely enough though, as a child I really dug the stuff. I remember being four years old folding tons of slices into a big tower of perfect little squares and chowing down! (eeegad!) Another creepy american cheese thing I did was this; I would take a Nalley Banquet Dill pickle, wrap it with a slice of american cheese and fill the concoction with a ton of mustard. I thought it was damn good at the time and I remember enjoying it quite a lot. The very thought of American cheese in my mouth sends shivers down my spine now. I don't know when I aquired the aversion to the stuff but THANK GOD!

What was the worst food you HAD to eat as a kid?

lol. I thought that the "grit" was the hard little white kernel in the puffy corn itself. At least that's what my Dad taught me. I thought the little kernels were removed in order to make the grits.I didn't think they dried and ground the whole corn. Now I've never minded the grits and in fact quite enjoy them with butter and honey or maple syrup and a splash of milk or half and half. The hominy itself though I just couldn't stomach. I can taste it still. It's not as if it were a rancid flavor or anything but a strange taste I just can't quite explain.

Purple cow??

Can anyone help me? I have been been searching for a specific candy that I truly loved as a kid. I'm looking for anyone who can remember the "Purple Cow". It was a delicious sour grape flavored taffy on a stick, at least I think it was on a stick. It was like a Sugar Daddy but sour grape and purple. The wrapper was purple and there was a cartoonish cow on it. I loved these! I would be pleased to find that this isn't just a dream I had but that the delicious purple cows did, in fact, exist.

My father had a thing for hominy which I absolutely hated. It's not like it was a common thing on our dinner plates but it was there maybe once every couple of months. I hated the stuff but I had to finish every single, puffy kernel before I could leave the table. I honestly think Dad just enjoyed torturing me with the stuff and thought it was amusing. My Dad grew up very poor in Cincinnati, OH. There were times when all he and his 12 sisters and brothers ate for weeks at a time was beans. Every now and then his mother would toss in some hominy or a ham bone to mix it up a little. Hard, hard times. Dad has never forgotten where he came from. The hominy was a reminder to him of those times and a jolt back to reality if he ever felt 'too big for his boots'. It still tasted terrible, lol.
