What are your favorite dives and cheap eats WORTH THE DRIVE?

I have never had Tito's Tacos but after having to remove the filling of a Jack in the Box taco so someone could have a "vegetarian" taco when I was 19 years old (working at a Jack in the Box) I doubt Tito's tacos could be any worse. I could never eat those (Jack in the Box) tacos again.

Food Court at President's Square (Arcadia)This is the same as Full Hoause Seafood take out. I haven't had a bad thing from any of the stalls.. In particular check out R.J. Pastire [sp?] wonderul, beautiful French Chinses fusion pasteries many for under $5.00.

Younnan's Mediterrean Garden (La Habra) Not a drive for me but it would be for others. Excellent Middle Eastern food at a great price. If they have their meat with either green beans or okra try it. They also offer a complimentary appetizer of olive oil infused with zattar and pita.

Bangers in LA?

You're welcome! I want to keep Bob in business. :-) Bob's bangers are the best! And you can pick up reasonably priced jar of Coleman's mustard to go with your bangers.

Bangers in LA?

Bob's Quality British Butcher Shop in Granada Hills on the corner of Balboa Blvd and San Fernando Misssion behind the Trader Joe's. He makes them fresh every morning. But you have to get there early because once that batch goes he won't make anymore for the day. They are worth the effort! Really good other meats and British products.

Bejing Duck House

I noticed an Open sign yesterday afternoon as I was driving home.

Best thing I ate at the L.A. County Fair...

I don't know but I had a perfectly good bowl of red beans & rice at Herny Belle's in the Piarte's Life area and a wonderful pint that I took home of Dr. Bob's strawberry, sour cream & brown sugar ice cream to take home and both of them seemed to br unique non chain food providers

Best thing I ate at the L.A. County Fair...

Last year it was Dr. Bob's Soy Sauce ice cream. I can recall the salty carmel taste and it's dense creaminess. I am going with some friends this Saturday. Any reccomendations? My best friend owes me a meal She prefers the BBQ near the "Mexican Villaige" I'd like to try something different that would leave room for some Dr. Bob's ice cream.

Review: Langer's Delicatessan - Los Angeles

As also a Jew I agree with you Mr Taster. With pastrami the simpler the better. I like my cole slaw on the side as a side munch to contrast the saltiness of the pastrami. Also for the record Kosher Laws go back more like 3,000 years not 2,000.

Any good Spanish restaurants?

Did you eat the paella at El Cid during the late seventies early eaighties? Because that is when it was co-owned by a friend's father a retired falmenco dancer from Madrid named Raoul Martin. He made the paella himself and he was an excellent cook . Unfortunately he no longer owns it and I think it change to Mexican food.
