Copenhagen next weekend

Hi,

I'm lucky enough to have secured a table at Noma in Copenhagen this coming Friday and it will be a surprise for my partners birthday. We will be travelling from London and staying for the weekend.

I've also booked a table at Fiskebaren on Saturday and Aamanns on Sunday. We're going to try and visit Harry's Place for hotdogs too!

I'm also planning on visiting the food hall - Torvehallerne.

Anything else I should try as a foodie with 3 days in Copenhagen?

Thanks in advance

Foodie with 36 hours in Paris

Hi,

I’m going to be in Paris for 36 hours this weekend and I’m looking for suggesting of things to do. I have been a few times before, so not looking for the main tourist sights.

I’m a foodie and love all things food and wine related! Is there anything similar to Borough Market in London?

I will be looking for a couple of great places for lunch (dinner is already booked). Really looking for ‘real’ Paris, rather than super-hip. We will be staying at the Intercontinental on Ave Marceau and more than happy to travel and we like all types of food.

Any suggestions gratefully appreciated.

Dining in Phuket and cookery course

I am going to be in Phuket over Christmas and New Year and I am looking for restaurant recommendations please. We are staying at Indigo Pearl, which is the north of the island, but don’t mind travelling to find the best restaurants that Phuket has to offer. We like all styles of food so feel free to recommend different styles of food. We would like something special for Christmas day and New Years eve. Are the restaurants at the high end hotels such as the Amanpuri and the Trisara any good? So far I have made a reservation at Baan Rim Pa and I’m looking around for others.

I’m also considering a short cookery course whilst we are there and visiting some food markets if anyone has any recommendations?

Many thanks

Foodie visit to New York

Thank you to everyone for the great suggestions.

I think I’m going to scrap Per Se, which was a lunch reservation (still wait listed for dinner). I’m not sure I want to have a long fine dining lunch and would prefer that for dinner. I also wasn’t planning on taking very smart clothes on my trip (I’m off the beach from NY!)

I’ve made a dinner reservation at EMP and plan to visit the Union Square Farmers Market on Monday and a stroll down Blecker. Going to try and make it to Momofuku Ssam one evening (do they take reservations?) and then Chikalicious for dessert and matching wines.

I’m a little unsure as to whether I dine at WD-50 instead of EMP…. Decisions decisions!!

Anything I’ve missed?!

Foodie and wine suggestions for a week in Miami Beach

Hi,

We are two self confessed foodies and wine lovers and going to be in Miami Beach from the 15th – 22nd July and looking for food and wine related suggestions for our trip?

I’m ideally looking for restaurant suggestions, perhaps one ‘fine dining’ experience (with modern influence, not too old or stuffy), then some Japanese\Asian restaurant suggestions and some general ‘must visit’ places. We are a couple in our early 30’s and budget shouldn’t be a problem. We will be staying at either Tides or Gansevoort but will travel all over to dine, so there is no need to suggest local restaurants. We’re also up for suggestions which maybe outside of Miami, if they are worth the drive.

I’d also like any suggestions of farmers markets (we are there Sat – Tue) which we could visit, also any fine food delis and any other food related experiences.

Many thanks in advance for all suggestions.

Foodie visit to New York

Hi,

We are two self confessed foodies and wine lovers and going to be in New York from the 12th – 15th July and looking for food and wine related suggestions for our trip?

I’m ideally looking for restaurant suggestions, perhaps one ‘fine dining’ experience (with modern influence, not too old or stuffy), some sushi\Asian restaurant suggestions and some general ‘must visit’ places. We are a couple in our early 30’s and budget shouldn’t be a problem. We will be staying in the meatpacking district, but will travel all over Manhattan to dine, so there is no need to suggest local restaurants.

We dined at El Bulli earlier this year and love that style of cooking with unusual combinations of textures and flavours. I have a lunch reservation at Per Se, although not 100% we will take it. I’ve been reading about Eleven Madison Park which looks very good, so I’ve made a reservation there to be on the safe side.

I’d also like any suggestions of farmers markets (we are there Sat – Tue) which we could visit, also any fine food delis and any other food related experiences.

Many thanks in advance for all suggestions.

Barcelona and Roses for a foodie weekend

I’m off to Barcelona on Thursday for two night and then on to Roses for two nights for dinner at El Bulli on Saturday, all very luckily coinciding with my partners birthday.

I’ve been reading extensively on here and other forums and have booked Hotel Omm in Barcelona then the Terreza in Roses. We arrive fairly late on Thursday, so planning at eating at Moo in the Hotel. On Friday I have a lunch booking at Cinc Sentits and then a dinner booking at Comerc24.

We are both complete foodies and really looking forward to exploring Barcelona. We’ll obviously be visiting La Boqueria, but wondered what other places there are worth visiting. Could anyone recommend a food/wine tour? Do you think that Cinc Sentits, Comerc 24 and then El Bulli is maybe over doing things? I’m keen to sample the modern catalan, rather than traditional or anywhere too formal. I’m also very keen to try many small dishes, rather than fewer larger dishes.

We will be driving up to Roses on the Saturday afternoon and then dining at El Bulli in the evening. I’m trying to book either Rafas or Cal Campaner in Roses for Sunday evening but I have a sneaky suspicion they will be closed.

Any other suggestions for my trip?
