Bath - donuts and diners

The Cabin in Bath has great pizza, good beer list and killer garlic knots. And I second the rec for El Camino. So good!

Breakfast Burlington VT

We are heading to Williston VT today for a family event. Unfortunately, we have no time to spend in the area. Can anyone recommend a great place in the area for breakfast tomorrow? Thanks!

The Library, Portsmouth

I'll admit that I do like to sit in the bar and have an ice cold martini and their mussels.

Best lobster roll between Kittery and Ogunquit?

It's in York, at the intersection of Shore and Cape Neddick Roads, just north of Short Sands. They donate a portion of the proceeds from their lobster rolls to York High School's Project Graduation and York's Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program. But hurry, they close from Nov-Mar!

best italian sub nashua

I second the recommendation for the Nashua Garden. I loved going there for lunch when I worked in downtown Nashua. And you can grab a nice cold beer there too, if you are so inclined!

Nothing in Bethlehem? How about Littleton?

I second the recommendation for RHI. The Rabbit Hill Inn is one of my favorite places anywhere!

Cooks Lobster House--Bailey Island Maine

I love Bailey Island! It is a destination unto itself. However, IMHO, Cooks is a total tourist trap. Go sit on the deck, look at the view, have some mussels, a nice local brew and try, maybe, something fried. The General Store on Baileys has great hamburgers. They get their meat fresh ground and cook it to order. For $5 or less, it is yummy. The fries are frozen, but if they cook them while you are waiting, are still pretty tasty. Again, Bailey Island is a special place, just not a Chow destination.

North Conway

Moat Mountain Smokehouse and Brewery is wonderful. Good food and good beer made right there. I had a special -- goat cheese and chicken quesadilla with strawberry chipotle sauce. Yum. Lots of different seating areas to accommodate your party.

For pizza, check out Flatbread at the Eastern Slope Inn. Organic ingredients, tasty, and they usually give kids pizza dough to play with while you wait.

RiRa in Portland

Has anyone been lately? How is the food? We were thinking of heading there next Sunday after Disney Princesses on Ice. (I may need a Guiness after that!)

We could go to Flatbread but we have one nearby in Portsmouth and we were hoping to try something different.

Any other suggestions for a Sunday afternoon bite in Portland with a 5 year old?

Good Place to Watch the Pats: Ogunquit, Wells or York?

Ruby's Wood Grill on Rt 1 in York would be perfect! Decent burgers and pulled pork. Check out their enclosed year round "deck" (the following details are from their website): dining and bar area and seven TVs, including a high definition 65" big screen.

It's a fun, basic place to watch the game. GO PATS! http://www.rubyswoodgrill.com/index.html

Ogunquit Maine question

I agree - both MC Perkins Cove and Robert's Maine Grill are favorites. They are not cheap but both have both great views and food. Very cozy this time of year. The ocean is always stunning - even when the snow is dirty and not so pretty. Anneke Jans is wonderful and hip. You'll feel like you're in the city!

Market Basket - Is it OK?

I totally agree with the Market Basket /Trader Joe's approach. I also go to the Hannaford at exit 6 off Rt 3; there's a NH State Liquor store on the same street that has an extensive wine selection (waaay better than the one on DW Highway). Hannaford's produce is far superior to MB and seems less expensive (to me) than Shaws.

Brazo in Portsmouth NH

This is the new restaurant owned by the same folks as the Green Monkey. It is in the old 43 Degrees North space. Has anyone been? Impressions? Word on the street? I am considering it for my birthday dinner and don't want to be disappointed.

Glenview in Chelmsford, Ma. - Great Comfort Food

I used to live within walking distance of the Glenview. It is the PERFECT neighborhood joint -- good food, nice people and killer White Russians (good thing I was walking)! I won't even order a White Russian anywhere else. I live in ME now and I still try to get there once a year, around Christmas time.

Cedar Key?

Hi!

We are going to be in Cedar Key for 6 nights. Looking for restaurant recommendations in the area. We love seafood, local flavor, etc. We will be traveling with a well-behaved 4 yr old (who also loves seafood) so nothing too high end, please... Thanks in advance!
