They are open, place looks great and pizza is as good as ever.

I second TJ's pizza crust is good, white, whole wheat and herbed are all good, bring it up to room temperature in a bowl sprayed w/olive coking spray and it rolls out nicely to your desired thickness

Every year leading up to his birthday (June 19th) my husband talks about the pistachio buttercream cake that his father would get for his birthday cake. He claims his dad got it at a German bakery in Queens. Does anyone know of a bakery (prefer brooklyn) where I can get a cake w/pistachio butercream fosting?
If not maybe a recipe would do, I'm Ok w/baking but have not done much w/homemade frosting.

Thanks for the tip, I attempted to go to Tortonno's this past weekend put the wait was going to be well over an hour so we passed, it's good to know that an alternative is out there. I'll definately give it a try.

I grew up in Midwood w/Difara being the local pizzeria, it is good but at this point is far to crowded and inconsistent in quality for it to be worth the wait. I have lived in Marine Park for the last 20 years, if your looking for a good slice from the local places and N&D on Ave U, Knapp Pizza on Knapp wil do the trick. Not in Marine Park but close by, L&B on 86th has great square (regular slice nothing special). Tortonno in Coney Island is always good and sits amid the sights of Coney Island that are always good to take in on a nice day.
Shea Stadium Eats
You definately do not need to smuggle food or drinks into shea. You can bring in just about any food and drink (no cans, glass bottles or alcohol). All of the staduim food is pricey, stop at your favorite deli on the way or make something at home. I went to a game just the other day and the big bag of peanuts that I brought in and paid about $2.00 for were a whole lot fresher the the ones i could have paid $5.00 for,
