Which would you choose...
A friend is taking me out to dinner to either Craft or Tocqueville. I have always wanted to go to both. Any thoughts on which I should choose?

Looking for fine dining restaurants for foodie in New York
I'm not sure how easy it will be to get reservations but I'd try hard for Eleven Madison Park, Marea, Annisa, Rouge Tomate (it doesn't get mentioned much but I love this place), Sushi Yasuda, and Blue Hill at Stone Barns (my favorite). I know its not in Manhattan but totally worth the 50 minute train ride.

Where to go in 2012 (for fine dining)?
So as the year is coming to a close I'm looking forward to compiling a list of must do's for 2012. This list will be for special occasion, price doesn't matter type restaurants. Any cuisine except sushi or Indian.
Some of my favorite places along those lines have been Blue Hill (both), Annisa, Picholine, Eleven Madison Park, Gramercy Tavern, Tomate Rouge, Momofuku Ko, and Brooklyn Fare. I've also truly enjoyed The Modern, Per Se, WD-50, Jean Georges, Corton, Gordon Ramsey at the London, Bouley, Le Bernadine Gotham Bar and Grill. I'm finishing out this year with Del Posto and Romera.
Daniel has been on my list for a while but other than that I'm not sure how to start my New Year of dining adventures.
Many of the places I've dined at listed above have come from your suggestions so please know I appreciate all the help and guidance. Thanks.

New Yorkers First Trip to SF, 4 dinner suggestions
Wow, awesome information. I'm going to carefully look at all the suggestions and start to make my decisions. Thanks so much for the help.
New Yorkers First Trip to SF, 4 dinner suggestions
I'm looking for a starting point for 4 dinners while I visit. I'm going to budget for one total splurge, one expensive ($150pp with wine), two moderate ($75pp with wine). I'm a big fan of local, farm to table, seasonal type restaurants, with excellent seafood options like Blue Hill at Stone Barns, Rouge Tomate, Eleven Madison Park, and Marea. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you.
Reasonably-priced wine flights?

cake for bachelorette
Cake was awesome, expensive but really worth it. It was a chocolate espresso cake with a marshmallow tasting icing covered in fondant
What to order at Quality Meats?
We are going to be a party of 6: 2 pescatarians, 1 no dairy, 1 picky (non-adventurous) eater, and 2 foodies.
Any suggestions across the board would be very much appreciated. Anyone try the Orange Creamsicle Sherbet for dessert, I read that and was instantly thrown back to childhood.

Grandma's Birthday, which Lidia Bastianich restaurant?
My soon to be 88 year old grandmother (who never asks for anything) asked to go to one of Lidia Bastianich's restaurants (she watches her show). Since, in my humble option, no one has better Italian than my grandma herself I rarely eat Italian out so am pretty clueless as to which one is best (why couldn't gram want sushi...that I know). The very important decision on which one we go to falls to me so I in turn ask for your help? It will be a party of 10 on a Sunday around 6pm. Price does not matter but the less stairs to be traversed and larger tables are better . Thanks
Corton or The Modern
This was a very very helpful for me to make my first choice, thank you.
Corton or The Modern
Wow, thank you for your thoughts .....but I'm still confused. I guess I'll have to try both, now which one is first?

I'm trying to decide, please help. Thanks so much.

Searchging for my next " WOW, that was amazing dinner". What would you suggest?
Thanks so very much for all the suggestion. I think I've narrowed it down a bit. I'm putting Annisa and Corton at the top of my list. I am being taken out for a birthday dinner and unlike my usual circumstance cost is not a factor so I want to take the opportunity to go somewhere that might be more challenging on my normal budget. I still am looking though so I appreciate all the input

Kajitsu, perfect for a dinner with my veg. best friend. I'll have to file that one away. She had the Vegetarian Kaiseki when I took her to Sugiyama and loved it. I have been to 15 East, I just didn't bother to list the Japanese places I'd been.

Compose, it looks interesting. I do not see a price for the tasting, do you know?

Thank you, I've hear a lot of mixed reviews.

I have to stay in the city but I did LOVE Brooklyn Fare, Japanese is out as my friend I'm going with is not a fan (unlike me, I also love Yasuda). Does Degustation take reservations?

Any neighborhood or price is fine, but reservations are a must. Wow includes not only the food but the whole experience, atmosphere, service etc.
Here is a list of already been too: Per Se, Jean Georges, Bouley, Gramercy Tavern, Eleven Mad., WD-50, Gordon Ramsey, Babbo, Marea, Alto, Scarpetta, both Blue Hills, Tocqueville, Veritas, Le Bernardin, Momofuku Ko, Picholine, Dovetail, Aureole...
On my radar is Anissa, Daniel, Mas, Del Posto..any suggestions, guidance, experiences that will help me decide. Thank you so much.

EMP booked, help me find an alternative
So now that I'm pretty sure I'm going to G.T. any thoughts on what to order?
EMP booked, help me find an alternative
I'm booked at Gramercy Tavern at 1030 hoping something opens up earlier. I also made 9:30 reservations at A Voce but not really where I want to go. Riverpark looks like a very interesting alternative I think I'll have to cancel A Voce and book at River Park. Thanks so very much.

I am on the wait list for Sat. Dec 11the at EMP. I need a solid back up. We were going to have the tasting so any suggestions for another excellent tasting dinner would be great. Some favorite restaurants that are NOT options as we want to try some where new are, Marea, Blue Hill, Scarpetta, Aureole, Babbo, Bouley, and Jean Georges, Picholine and Le Bernardin. Please help as time is slipping away.

Looking for a Great Lardo dish other than Marea's Ricci
I'm taking my Uncle out for his birthday and he loved the Ricci at Marea last year. Any other suggestions for great pasta and a good dish with Lardo? Budget is a little tighter this year so a little less pricey would be helpful but not necessary. 30's- 60's east or west preferred but again not necessary. Thanks in advance

Dessert Sampling...help needed
I took my dessert loving Grandmother to Mesa Grill and she was in love with the fact we could get a dessert sampling. She is the kind of person impatiently pushing her food around the plate waiting for everyone else to finish so she can have dessert. Any suggestions for other restaurants that have dessert samplers or tasting. American Seafood, Italian, French, Mexican (anything but Asian or Indian), good for a group of about 8, prefer east side between 40's to 70's but willing to go west as long as it's not above Central Park. About $70pp a including drink. I was thinking Nougatine but don't see the sampling on the menu even though I heard they had one. Thanks in advance.

It does not list individual stores and I have never seen it so was trying to find someone who has bought it locally
Santa Barbara Salsa's Tangy Apple Salsa
Has anyone seen this sold around town? I read a Yahoo article claiming it to be the best fruit salsa. I lover their mango and would love to try this one.
Basement Bistro - Earlton NY
It's worth the wait. I was on the reservation list for almost 2 years and just went on Saturday. It was the most unique dinning experience of my life. I feel in love with Chef Damon's quirky genius and passion for his job.
