Heirloom Tomatoes in Astoria - Where to find?

'Tis the season for heirloom tomatoes ! We found some at Whole Foods in Union Square last week and, although they were great, their selection was pretty poor - overripe and bruised - so we picked a few that were the best of a bad (and expensive) bunch. However, I am CRAVING them - anyone know a reliable source for heirloom's in Astoria? I don't care how much they cost...I must have them!

Chocolate pot de Creme/\Chocolate Mousse MSP

Hello! It is my birthday and a friend is taking me out for dessert in MSP tonight. I am craving Chocolate Pot de Creme or a really good Chocolate Mousse! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

MSP - Breakfast Reccomendation

Also wanted to mention I had brunch at The Strip Club recently as well. I soooo want to love that place and also want it to succeed but, ugh, it was a tad dissapointing. The space looks a bit odd in the daylight and to be honest, a bit grubby. Our server was great but the food was, meh.
I had the frittata with wild rice sausage, mushroom and ricotta served with a green salad. It was pleasant enough, a bit heavy on the mushrooms and the dressing on the salad was...strange.
Dining companion had the Irish breakfast - the beans were undercooked and the rest was...well, okay. It was also worryingly empty for a weekend late morning.
The menu is limited at brunch and I know from other posts that I am not alone in feeling a bit dissapointed - I will try it again for dinner. Any other thoughts on their brunch would be appreciated. Perhaps I am missing something or....??

MSP - Breakfast Reccomendation

I don't know if this is just about french toast but I had brunch at the St. Paul Grill last weekend and it was great! I always thought the Grill would only be suitable for holidays or would be too expensive, stuffy and/or dissapointing, etc. but no!
My dining companion and I were seated by the windows (lovely view of the park) and were served a complimentary gigantic caramel roll, mimosa and wonderful fruit plate - no soggy melon or mushy grapes - perfect medley of berries and fresh melon.
I had the "grill eggs" - scrambled eggs with chorizo, scallions and avocado and my partner had the country breakfast - eggs, biscuits and gravy. Everything was wonderful and the hash browns were creamy and delicious.
It was around $30 for the two of us which might seem a bit much but when you add in the roll, fruit and drinks it was worth every penny. Our server was friendly and attentive - pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. Would I go every weekend? No - but I will be going more often. I also love Jay's Cafe as well as BLB, Highland Grill, Colossal Cafe, etc. but would highly recommend the Grill when you feel like a more of an "occasion" - we dressed up a bit (not that you need to) and were made to feel so comfortable that we lingered much longer than we would have at other places that are a bit more hectic at brunch.

Mt. Horeb/New Glarus/Madison, WI

My family and I are visiting SW Wisconsin (Mineral Point) this weekend and need a good place to eat Saturday night. We are planning on having dinner at The Bank in Spring Green Friday night (any thoughts on The Bank would be welcomed!) and need a more casual but good place for dinner Saturday night. Madison is a bit too far but we are happy to travel to Mt. Horeb/New Glarus/Etc. - I am dining with my parents (who are fussy) and some friends (who are foodies) - so I am under a bit of pressure to come up with something good. Please help! Thanks!

Dessert Options in Twin Cities

Try the bar at WA Frost on Selby in St. Paul - they have great desserts and the bar has a more relaxed (but still beautiful) atmosphere. The kitchen is open until 11:30 at the weekend and they also have a comprehensive selection of tea/coffee. We eat in the bar fairly often as the restaurant is a bit formal and it's always good.

MSP Cookies

Two Smart Cookies at 181 Snelling Avenue - right at the cross of Snelling and Selby. We went there on Friday and had chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies. They were the best and the owner was extremely friendly. Also, there are no preservatives or anything funny (I bought some "whole grain" cookies at Kowalskis only to notice corn syrup listed as an ingredient - yuck and, why?) in them. Two Smart Cookies' were pretty much perfect - chewy and delicious! They also have brownies and bars. Yum!
