Can anyone recommend a nice, kid-friendly restaurant in or around Venice? My sister-in-law is visiting with my niece (6) and nephew (3) and I'd like to take them out to dinner tonight.

BTW, since I'm a single, childless, guy, I have no idea what "kid-friendly" means, but I'm hoping someone out there does!

A friend of mine is visiting from out of town and I'm meeting her for lunch. I don't want her to know how miserable my downtown office life is (skyways, stores selling dusty umbrellas, the unrelenting sun). Can someone recommend a nice affordable lunch spot downtown that makes LA seem reasonably cosmopolitan?

Where in LA can I get fries cooked in duck fat? It looks Bin 8945 used to make them, but now it's closed.

I'm planning to visit Santa Barbara Wine Country. I've heard that ever since Sideways hit the screen there has been an increase in people viewing vineyards as sort of a party circuit with free booze. Can the board suggest what what wineries I should visit and what wineries I should avoid?
