dinner recs in Spokane
Hi lardo, I would definitely recommend Churchill's. It's just a block away from the Davenport on Post street. My wife and I consider ourselves professional diners and have been to every spot in Spokane where someone is cooking food and selling it. Churchill's is our ABSOLUTE favorite. It has the best steak we've ever had, something to do with the dry aging process they use. And service has always been perfect every time we've been there. It also has a really romantic classy atmosphere that we really like but they're not snobs about it, which I've noticed seems to usually be the downfall for classy looking restaurants. But no, you can wear a t-shirt and shorts there if you wanted to and they still treat you like a welcome guest (and yes it happened to me once, long story). Parking can sometimes be the only problem but if you're walking from the hotel, it should be perfect for you. Hope this helps!
Spokane: Rec for bridesmaid dinner
Hi tmontauk, I would toss in my two cents and say that Churchill's is definitely the place you should check out. It's a new restaurant and is just a block away from the Davenport downtown. My wife and I eat out at least five times a week (we are HORRIBLE cooks :) and we've been to all of the restaurants I've seen mentioned here. Some of them are decent, some are horrible. But none of them really have ever knocked our socks off. Europa is definitely a neat little place but it's not private at all, the tables are extremely close together and they also they started closing really early a few months ago. And Clinkerdaggers seems to have a requirement that you need to bring three screaming children with you before they let you in the doors, which drives my wife and I absolutely crazy. We just don't like to eat out with other people's children. Vin Rouge is tiny (it used to be a Carls Jr.) and like Europa's, has absolutely no privacy and we've also had some problems with some really nasty servers there that my wife and I joked the restaurant must have bought fresh from the jerk store. As for all of those other restaurants I see mentioned, we've always had mixed results at those places so I have to say that they all stand out as just mediocre in my mind. Spokane is just a little dry when it comes to "blow your socks off" places to eat unfortunately. But we've been to Churchill's at least half a dozen times in the last three months and it's always been perfect. Totally classy environment but they're not snobs in the slightest, the best steaks I have EVER had, excellent service...etc, etc. Just bring some money for the meter if you go early because parking can be a pain in the ass. But other than that, my wife and I are completely addicted to the place as you can probably tell. :) Anyway, I hope this helps, have a great bridal party!
Any tried Churchill's Steakhouse in Spokane?
My wife and I consider ourselves professional diners and have been to Churchill's a total of four times so far. We agree that it's the best kept secret in town at the moment and that the steak is quite simply the best that we've ever had. Incredible flavor due to the dry aging process they use, something we've never encountered in any other steakhouse before. Service has always been excellent and they really went all out when they designed the atmosphere of the place. Parking can sometimes be a problem because it's downtown Spokane but that's just downtown for you. The prices are in the middle to higher range but we have always found that the experience is more than worth it. And the experience is what my wife and I go out for in the first place so if that's something you look for in a restaurant, Churchill's is your place. Otherwise, just take your special lady out to taco bell for you magical evening.
$20-$40 Great wines at respectable prices
I really enjoy a townsend T3. It's a wine from Washington. The name comes from the fact that it comes from three varietals from three different years. Excellent. Around 35 I believe.
