+1 for Mann's. I love their pork ribs and pulled pork. They even have the vineagar sauce to go with the pulled pork.

My favorite Indian grocer is MGM Indian Foods at 7427 Burnet Rd. The guy there has been very helpful every time I've been in there.

Tamales for Christmas Party
I second the Curra's recommendation. The masa is airy, the shredded pork filling is delicious and they are large. The best I've had in Austin.
Zi Pizza
I'm having some friends over for a poker party this week and I'm going to order pizza. Has anyone tried Zi Pizza? There's a new one that opened recently on Anderson Ln. and I thought I might try it if it's any good. I think there's another location somewhere in town. Thanks!
Any Ethiopian places?
A group of us went to Taste of Ethiopia on Monday and it was great. We had the vegetarian sampler and Key Siga Wot. It was plenty of food for three. The beef was tender and flavorful in the Key Siga Wot and there was a nice selection of veggies in the sampler fosolia (carrots and green beans), tikil gomen (cabbage and carrots), Yemisir Wot (lentils), Ater Kik (split peas), Gomen (collard greens) and Eggplant Wot. My favorite of the veggies was the Eggplant. Unfortunately we were the only people there the whole time we ate. Hopefully it was just slow because of the holiday.
Cajun Cracklins and Boudin?
On Friday's Hoover's has a smoked boudin special. I think it's very good. Have any true boudin afficianados out there tried it there? What do you think?
Uncle Billy's - BIG Turn Around!
My favorite place for pulled pork is Mann's up on 183 at Ohlen. The pulled pork at Uncle Billy's is good, but not as good as Mann's and Mann's has the real deal vinegar sauce to go with theirs. I love the beer at Uncle Billy's, but don't go there very often because the parking situation drives me crazy. Also the service, as many have noted, often leaves much to be desired.

Wonder if the special salsa from Curra's is the warm orange/red sauce they serve with the tamales. It's different from their regular red sauce and pretty good too.
Best French Fries in Austin
Believe it or not It's Italian up on Bratton Ln. has some of the best frites I've had outside of Belgium. They double fry them just like the Belgians. I imagine they could whip up a sauce to go with them if you ask.
Bored of Options Spicewood/Mopac
Too bad, you must have hit them on a bad night. I go there a couple of times a month and the BBQ is good to excellent.

I'll second the vote for BBQ at Mann's. They have awesome pulled pork and the pork ribs get better and better everytime I've had them. Fried green tomatoes made to order too.
The Sandwich Joint
My husband stopped by a couple of Thursday's ago at 6 PM to pick up some sandwiches for post HH and they were closed. Any idea if this was an abberation? He didn't see any hours on the door.

Fried Calamari
I'll second the vote for It's Italian. The marinara sauce they serve with it is very good too. We also enjoy their wood oven pizza. Give 'em a try!
Oxacan Tamaleo is Moving
Actually it looks like yesterday was the last day. My husband just stopped by to try and get some Mole and tamales for dinner and they're already closed.
Oxacan Tamaleo is Moving
Somehow my earlier post about the impending move of Oxacan Tamaleo moving to a new location was removed. My husband picked up some of their delicious posole for dinner last night and it looks like today is their last day at the Anderson Ln. location. They're moving out near ABIA on Hwy. 71. We'll really miss having easy access to their spicy and delicious Mole and Green Chili Pork.
