I just made reservations to have Thanksgiving @ Lawry's in Chicago. Has anyone gone or know someone who has so I could get some insight. I'm just too lazy to cook :)

Take my word for it The Silo is close by the base and is fabulous! Talk to anyone who lives on the base. These other people are talking about places that are quite a drive from where you will be on Friday. Do your driving on Sat. Driving anywhere on Fri in Chicago is pure insanity!

Hey, thank your son for all he has and is about to do! You should definately try "The Silo" in Lake Bluff. You will have to look it up but it is not far from the base and has fabulous "Chicago Style" pizza
Pre- show food.
There are a few good spots for pre-show food,, though I do not know if they serve raw oysters. Within walking distance is Tavern on The Park, on Randolph just east of Michigan. Great burger, and perhaps when you go it will be warm enough for their roof-top seating, which will have great views of Milinnium(sp) Park.
Food Suggestions for this weekend, HELP!
There is my favorite restaurants that are not far from Arlingotn Heights.They are located at The Westin North Shore in Wheeling. Osterio D'Tramonto and Tramonto Steak and Seafood are located there.Both are excellent. They also house a sushi restaurant all owned and run by Rick Tramonto, who also is an owner of TRU, an award winning place in rhe city. Arlington Heights is huge, so you could be anywhere from 10 minutes to 30 minutes from this restaurant, but you can't go wrong.
Best Steak in Chicago?
To me you can't beat Gibsons. Their steaks are amazing, but no one ever mentions their sides!!!! The doublebaked potato can not be compared!
