Fine dining recommendations in Telluride?

My husband and I will be in Telluride for one week next month. I would love to hear some opinions on the finer restaurants in town. Thanks in advance!

Anniversary dinner in Savannah?

I am looking for suggestions. We are staying at the Bohemian Hotel on the river and would love to be able to walk somewhere if possible. Good food and atmosphere are a must. Cost is not an issue. Thanks!

Fine Dining Recommendations

Thank you Chowhounds. I have booked George. I will also look at L'unita, and Colborne Lane. I checked out the menus at Spendido and Scaramouche and I really wasn't thrilled. It's a personal thang!

Fine Dining Recommendations

My husband and I will visiting Toronto, staying in Yorkville, for several nights early this September. I would love to hear about some GREAT restaurants. Price isn't really an issue, but good food, service, and ambiance a must. Chowhounds have always come through with great suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Strange chemical on some restaurant/store food

Thanks small h, I feel like although your suggestion is a possibility, and perhaps the answer to my question, someone out there knows the truth. What's the deal on the part of the restaurants/stores adding some chemical to the food? Thanks for responding. I can't help but believe that someone out there knows more than they are telling. I guess you could call me a foodie comspiracy theroist. Have you ever tasted it???? It's terrible.

Strange chemical on some restaurant/store food

I have had this experience several times in my life. As I recall, it was usually on fish or fresh fruits and vegetables. My mom always told me that some restaurants and retail stores use a chemical preservative that they spray on food to extend it's shelf life. It is a really distinctive and disgusting taste. When I have had this happen in a restaurant, I complain and of course reject the dish. I am unable to eat anything else because I am so turned off. Does anyone in the food/restaurant business know what I am talking about? Does such a thing really happen? I have wondered about this for some time.

B&J's (Steak and) SEAFOOD, Darien, GA

Didn't see your post before adding a new one of my own about BJs. I searched chowhound on Sunday before we went and only found some old mentions. Anyway, we really enjoyed the Sunday buffet and now can't wait to try the seafood. Where is Speeds?

REAL Country Buffet in Darien GA

Finally went to the Sunday fried chicken buffet at BJ's in Darien. There used to be several similiar places in the coastal GA area, but they have slowly disappeared. BJ's Steak and Seafood is the REAL DEAL. For an unbelievable $8.00 per person, you get all you can eat fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, greens, lima beans, green beans, rice, some kind of very flavorful beef, ham, mac and cheese, rolls, dessert (2 choices) and a bottomless drink (tea, lemonade, etc.) I have probably left something out but have listed most of what I remember. The point is, that the food is really quite delicious. Don't expect anything but two bare bones diningrooms, with plain long narrow tables. This kind of place is a dying breed and can only be found in the rural south. Nothing like this exists in the northeast where I also live part of the time. My husband (a fried chicken lover) was thrilled. I'm glad we got to try it before heading north for the summer. If this is something that would appeal to you I highly recommend you give it a try. I understand they also have a seafood buffet on Friday nights that draws crowds.

Atlantic/Jacksonville Beach Area - solo female

Will be spending 3 nights ALONE in the Atlantic/Jacksonville Beach Area of Florida. Looking for good food somewhere that a female alone will feel comfortable. Perhaps a place where you can sit at the bar and have a nice meal. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Anything new in Salt Lake City?

We were there two winters ago and tried many of the fine dining establishments. We enjoyed Cucina Toscana best of all. I was wondering if there are any new places worth a visit when we spend two nights there this June. We will be staying in town with a car, but would rather not travel too far. Would appreciate some input. Thanks.

Sedona recommendations?

Our first experience at L'Auberge was wonderful. We were staying at Enchantment but went for a great dinner there and sat creekside. I was so charmed, that the next time we traveled to Sedona, we stayed at L'Auberge. Our dinner that night was just okay. Did not particularly enjoy our room either. I don't know who the chef is, or if he or she has been a constant presence, but I would imagine that the quality of the meal is dependent on who's in the kitchen. I would only rely on feedback from recent diners.

Jackson Hole/Teton Village

Will be visiting this area of WY in June. Would love some chowhound input on good restaurants - all price ranges. After some preliminary research, I have come up with these suggestions:

Snake River Grill, Il Villagio Osteria, Rendevous Bistro, Couloir, Nani's Cucina Italiana, Mangy Moose, Westbank Grill, Stiegler's

Looking for good food and a pleasant experience. Price is secondary. Any suggestions or comments?

Thanks Chowhounds!

Jackson/Teton Village, WY

Wouldn't consider WY as part of the southwest, but I do see it included there. Thanks.

Jackson/Teton Village, WY

I don't really get that, but I'll give it a try. thanks.

Jackson/Teton Village, WY

Thank you, holdthecow.

Jackson/Teton Village, WY

We will be staying in Teton Village for one week in June. After some preliminary research, the following restaurants have been recommended to me. I would appreciate some chowhound input on these or any other good places. Not only fine dining, but casual, less expensive spots as well. Thanks chowhounds!

Snake River Grill, Il Villagio Osteria, Rendevous Bistro, Couloir, Nani's Cucina Italiana, Mangy Moose, Westbank Grill, Stiegler's

Near the Waldorf

Need to be at the Waldorf at 7:00 on a Sat. night in Dec. after having an early dinner. Looking for a good meal within a short walk away. Rather not spend the usual $300 per couple and would probabley choose something other than Italian, since we have such great places we frequent. Any suggestions for good eats and a $200 tab with a couple of drinks OR a reasonaby priced bottle of wine? Would appreciate suggestions.

Near Madison Square Garden

Any recommendations for dinner prior to an event at the Garden? I know there's not alot to choose from, but I'm looking for decent food that's not too expensive. Help!

Painted Horse in N. Scottsdale.

Passing through AZ next month. The Painted Horse was recommended. I would love to hear some opinions on food and atmosphere. Thanks!

Looking for a truly good restaurant in Bergen County

How about Cafe Panache in Ramsey. Kevin is a great chef who changes his menu with the seasons. It is consistently good and don't forget to BYO wine.

Mosaic in Scottsdale

Will be staying in Carefree for a few days in June. I have already booked Binkley's (which we love) and am considering Mosaic as our other fine dining night. We have never been there - any comments????

Have a Smoked Salmon, Now What?

A salmon spread that EVERYONE loves. Flake salmon, add mayo, a little dijon, a squeeze of fresh lemon, celery and red onion finely chopped (salt & pepper if you like). It's excellent on a good cracker.
