Yeah the Marshalls situation sux. They knew when they moved in it was a temporary location. My dad is friends with the owners. I haven't heard of a solid contingent plan. But I'll keep my ears open.

I also did not get out much this year. The bank account has been appalling light :(
But I did have a few memerable experences.
1. Eurbulance - Salad made with a blanched sunflower head. Wasn't on the menu. Sent from Chef. I did not know you could eat that part of the sunflower. REVELATION!

2. My sister got me chocolates from a shop in Southie can't remember the name now but, Dark Chocolate filled with lavender scented caramel (and maybe a hint of chili? ) topped with sea salt. TO DIE FOR YUMMM!!!

3. Not new but EVERYTHING I have everytime I go to Meyers+ Chang! Always worth the visit!! :)

Does anyone know whats going on with the old pops space on tremont? I heard rumors that the owner of grotto might be opening something there. Can anyone verify this / have any additional info?

But growin up in Rossie my dad always used to take me to "political meetings" with him at The Halfway Cafe in Dedham ( all the others ones are poor imitations) Still to this day one of my fav spots. Best salad dressing in the world. And yes the steamers are acctually reccomended. Great people great food good drinks and of course as always cheap.

The Foods great at both. I prefer L'espalier for service and sometimes slightly prefer the food at Clio. But I think one thing all Bostonian foodies can agree on is that Ken Oringer NEEDS to lay off the confetti flowers they're just getting a little ridiculous haha

ok well maybe it was just me I tend to pick up on subtle neuances others might not. Also there were some new faces cooking I hadn't seen before so maybe Its just a new crew that would account for the difference

Yes that was roughly the menu and as I said I was still good, but it seems more lke No. 9 food now. Last when I went there It was more contemporary american rather that the No.9 signature contemporary french/ italian

The Tahiti in Dedham is you best bet for a campy feel. Its still very family friendly inside a little run down but not gross. The food is generic run of the mill chinese nothing to write home about but edible. You can get coctails in plastic coconuts and such virgin cocktails too I believe

I went to B&G last week and was suprised to find everything I loved about the food and the atmosphere gone! I had eaten there last in Dec. had one of the best meals of my life. The menu was interesting and the entrees were light and surprising. But I returned this last week to find mediterranian? french? food not really sure howto caterogorize it. Dont get me wrong the food was still good but it was missing the flair and excitement of my previous meals there. Also it seems really slow low energy atmosphere wise. What happened to the crowded boiterious fastpaced B&G I fell in love with????
