Shockingly dissapointed with Sushi Marche

excellent point. I think John would be really upset if he knew his regulars were balking.

Shockingly dissapointed with Sushi Marche

It's close, affordable and 9 out of 10 times, amazing. My plan is to not call ahead but to walk in and give them the old sniff test before I order.

Shockingly dissapointed with Sushi Marche

I've also been going to SM for a couple of years with no complaints have always loved their food but on Thursday I picked up some of the worst sushi I've ever had. The rice fell apart and the fish was very pungent. I was hoping it was a blip, am STILL hoping it was a blip. They get another chance with me, but as it's sushi, only one more.

Lady and Sons (Butcher) = Disappointing

That's too bad. I am a proper meatavore and I've never gotten a better steak than the ones I'd get from there.

Lady and Sons (Butcher) = Disappointing

Unfortunately, they will not be re-opening in the immediate area. They are looking at moving over to Queen and Broadview. The owner (Voula) is ill, but is expected to make a full recovery and with Bobby (the Son) off at University, there was no option but to close. They are moving because the butcher shop across the street mainly – they poached most of the customers with their really low prices. I loved Lady and Son and will miss them greatly.

Best French restaurant

try Fare on Queen east. Classic Bistro food. Really good.

Diners/Greasy Spoons - what are your best recommendations?

The Tulip on Queen @ Coxwell...really good.

Where To Find Berkshire?

Lady and Son Butcher on Queen East (at Jones) also has Berkshire and it's cheaper than Healthy Butcher by far.

Can of beans...your favorite recipe using one

Creamy beans - any type of light colour bean will do...
sweat a leek and a shallot (fine cut) in a pan w/ some butter. Once they're tender, add some garlic. When you can smell the garlic, add a 1/4 cup white wine. Reduce by 1/2.
Remove from heat and stir in a dollop of sour cream. Season.
Great with a meaty fish or steak

British Fish and Chips

British Fish and Chips is the best. There was a great place in the beach on Queen, but I forgot it's name and they changed owners so it's not as good.

British has the freshest fish I've ever eaten at a F&C house.
