Disappointment with Bar Boulud

A disaster last night. First they said they did not have the reservation , but after 10 minutes I found my dinner partner sitting at the table waiting for me. And yes they had acknowledged the dinner reservation to him. NO APOLOGY to me though. We explained we had 1 hour and 15 minutes to eat before theatre. It took 35 minutes to get our appetizers which were cold salads. We had to ask numerous times for the cheese puffs. And after 65 minutes from when we sat down, dinner arrived. TOO LATE to eat!!! We sent it back and ran off to the theatre. Everyone around us had the same problem and many people left with an empty stomach. AND they let us pay for our appetizers!!! The wait staff and matre d blamed the chief. What is the problem?

Charlie Gittos vs. I Frattanini in St. Louis

Thank you. We have been to Oceana Bistro and it is excellent. Since our son now has a car at school, he frequents many restaurants in the Loop. But I will make sure to send him these recommendations.

Still good? What about for people who only eat fish?

Taking our son, a student at Wash U to dinner. Which is better if we are looking for a good, but casual meal not too far from WU campus in Clayton.

Theatre District

Try Nizza on 630 9th Ave. (44th & 45th Sts.) or Marseilles 9th ave at 44 Street. Both easy with kids. Not a far walk to your theatre.

Anyone eaten at Battery Gardens recently?

We went to Battery Gardens on Saturday and we just LOVED the view. There seems to be a new head of catering. A man named Alex. He was nice as could be on the phone, but he arranged for a colleague, Yvette, to show us around on Saturday, but she didn't show up for the appt! We thougt the place looked a tired and run down. It seems that you had a fabuolous experience and we so wanted to like it. Any thoughts????

Anyone eaten at Battery Gardens recently?

How sad. Someone had recommended BG as a wonderful space for a wedding party that would not include a sit down dinner, but hors d'ouevres, dessert and dancing. I am discouraged by your GF's experience. Thanks for the honesty.

Stanton Social Club by far. We were rushed out of Hearth after our meal. The food was only fair. Stanton Social has great food and a fun scene.
